The Black Moon

I woke the next morning with Draken's arm around my waist. I slowly stirred causing him to wake up. "Good morning Draken." He smiled softly and pulled me into his chest. "Do we have to get up?" I nodded my head and giggled. "Unfortunately I think we do. We're having lunch with everyone today, remember?" He groaned and nodded. We climbed out of bed and I grabbed my phone from the table. I had a missed call from an unknown number as well as two text messages from a local realtor. "Are you going with me, or did you have some matters to attend to?" I sat my phone down and pulled out some clothes from the drawer. "I actually have some things to take care of before I meet you and the guys." Draken walked outside so I could change. I quickly put on my shoes, grabbed my bag, and walked out. "We're meeting at 1 right?" Draken nodded before pulling me close. He placed his finger under my chin and tilted my face up. "You be careful alright?" I smiled at him and leaned up to kiss him. "I will. I'll see you soon."

We parted ways and I began my journey to the realtors office. I was gonna look at houses today and potentially a space to open a bike shop. I made sure not to tell Draken that last bit, because the bike shop is for him. I know it's always been his dream to work on bikes, so I'm determined to make sure that happens. I walked in and went to the front desk. "Hello! I have an appointment with Emiko?" The girl in front of me checked her computer before taking me to an office in the back. Behind the office desk sat a beautiful woman with dark hair. Her eyes rose to meet me and she smiled. "Good morning! You must be Adriana! Please, come in and have a seat. I have some wonderful properties to show you." I sat in front of her desk and she closed the door to give us some privacy.

"So? Buying your own house at 16? That's a pretty big step." I nodded and took some papers out of my bag. "Here's all my guardianship papers. I filed for them after my father died. I have no living kin." She looked them over before pulling a folder out of her drawer. "If I recall correctly, on the phone you said you wanted a 2 bedroom with possibly 1.5 bath home is that correct?" I nodded and she sat the folder in front of me. "These are all the residential homes we have within those specifications. Included are also the ones for the shop you asked for. A couple have an attached garage as well." I glanced through the folder and a beautiful little home caught my eye. "Tell me about this one."

I pointed it out to her and she beamed! "This little beauty is a bit bigger. It has 3 bedroom and 2 bath but it includes a swimming pool and hot tub in the back as well. That being said it's not so close to the city." She pulled up some addition images on her computer to show me. "This is the one! I'll take it, and...this shop as well." I showed her the shop space I wanted and she began to fill out paperwork. "Will you be financing?" I shook my head. "No, this will be bought straight out." She didn't question me and just filled out the paperwork. We finalized everything and she handed me a packet with all that we done as well as the keys for both locations. "Thank you so much for your help." She thanked me for my purchase and I left. I looked down at my watch and I seen it was a little after 12.

"Luckily I'm not that far from the lunch spot." I took off walking. "Come on kid hand it over! What use do you have for it anyway? It's wasted on a nobody like you." Up ahead some older kids were bullying a boy over a camera. Anger festered up inside me as I got a good look at the boy they were picking on. He already had a bloody nose and still wasn't backing down. "Hey! What the hell is wrong with you boys?! Picking on a little kid!" I walked and stood in front of the boy with my arms out to my sides. They laughed while looking at me. "Stay out of this girl! This ain't none of your damn business. This boy here done went and pissed off the Kanto Manji Gang!" I felt like someone had stabbed me in my gut. I didn't even flinch as I punched one of the boys square in the jaw. The other two began to stammer away. I walked over to the one on the ground and picked him up by his collar. "I'm sorry, did you say Kanto Manji Gang? Who is your commander?!" The boy stuttered before calling out one name. "Mikey!! Our commander is Mikey!" I tossed him on the ground and stood up. "Do me a favor yeah? Tell your commander, to watch his back. Now scram!" The other two boys picked up the one on the ground and ran.

I turned to the smaller boy and noticed he was already gone. Not that I could blame him. I would have ran too. I finished my walk to the restaurant and went inside. The others were already there. It was Mitsuya, Pah, Chifuyu, Draken, and me. "Hey guys! Sorry if I was late." The waitress come around and took our orders. I noticed Draken staring at me and then he picked up my hand. "Your knuckles are red." I laughed. "Yeah. I kinda caught some guys picking on this little kid on my way here. That being said. These dudes said they were a part of the Kanto Manji Gang. So what the hell had been going on since Toman disbanded?" There was brief silence before Mitsuya spoke. "There's been an intense power struggle going on for months now. With Toman disbanded it left the top spot open. No name gangs rose up from nowhere claiming they were the best and it turned into a major turf war. But out of all of those gangs three are stronger than the rest. Brahman led by Sanzu Kawaragi, Rokuhara Tandai led by South Terano, and the Kanto Manji Gang led by Manjiro Sano."

Pah sighed before taking a sip of his drink. "I miss things the way they were. It was a hell of a blow to find out Toman disbanded once I got out of the slammer." Mitsuya hummed and put his hand on his chin. "This may sound crazy guys, but what if we do it. What if we recreate Toman? Or what Toman was. We could take the top spot for ourselves and maybe even bring Mikey back. Throw a wrench in the works so to speak." I felt eyes on me and looked over to Draken. He took my hand in his and I smiled at him letting me know I was okay. Chifuyu slapped Mitsuya playfully on the arm. "Nice try big guy. What would we even call ourselves." Draken's eyes were still on me and then he spoke. "The Black Moon. We would call ourselves The Black Moon." I looked at him surprised knowing where he got the name from. However, the others did not. "Where did that come from Draken?" Draken then turned me sideways for everyone to see my tattoo. They all grinned and nodded. "The Black Moon it is. And I see no better person to be our commander than you Adriana. If you will that is." Draken grinned at me and I looked at them all astounded that they would want me to lead them. I nodded with tears in my eyes.

I stood up from my seat with resolve in my heart. "Alright that settles it then! I want you all to call everyone you can and we'll all meet up at the shrine tonight. In the meantime." I turned to Draken. "You need to come with me. I have something to show you." We all parted ways and I couldn't help but be excited. 'Watch out Mikey. Your gonna be dethroned.'

October 10,2006: The Black Moon was created.
