Chapter 233: Unravel

"Have you gone mad, sister?!"

"No, Henry, I'm not!"

"You are marrying a Slothian! The military general who is involved in those massacres in Judecca! You should listen to mother!"

"You know what happened there, Henry! Prince Edmund has told us. I don't think Slothia is in the wrong."

"You...!"

A cough can be heard from behind and Henry eyes widen when he saw who was standing there.

"Your Highness..."

Catarina immediately give a curtsy bow to Edmund.

"Your Highness."

"I am here to thank you for your assistances, Lady Catarina. Am I interrupting anything?"

"No, Your Highness, please feel free to join us..."

Henry glare at her sister who glare at him back. Edmund took a seat and Catarina expertly poured a new cup of tea for Edmund.

"I wanted to thank you for your help during Silva's coronation..." Edmund started the conversation.

"It is my duty, Your Highness...oh I wanted to thank you for the gifts...I am unworthy to receive such gifts..."

"No. Juwan has done so much for me and you as well...This is a small thing to receive. I owe you both. I'm looking forward to your wonderful union."

Henry's dissaproval is obvious on his face.

"I think you should erase those from your face..."

Henry was caught unguarded with Edmund's comments.

"F-forgive, Your Highness...I didn't mean..."

"I have heard that you and your mother opposed to this union?"

"No...we don't dare..."

"I have blessed their union and so is the Slothian Queen...do you have any issue with that?"

"I wouldn't dare, Your Highness..."

"We are looking forward to the union in few days..."

"In few days?!" Henry was surprised to hear that. Catarina have the same reaction with her brother.

"We apologize for rushing the ceremony..but we have urgent business to settle."

"I wouldn't let the ceremony hinder your important matters, Your Highness. I am grateful..."

Catarina actually felt a bit relieved. Edmund smile. She feel insecure staying with her own family because she knew her mother and brother will try to stop the marriage. But if Prince Edmund had his say in this matter, they wouldn't dare to oppose him.

"That's what I came here for. I will attend the ceremony as well..."

"It's our honor, Your Highness..."

Edmund stand up and excuse himself. The siblings give him a respectful bow and watch as Edmund left them in the room.

"What happened to Prince Edmund?"

"What do you mean, sister?"

"I felt that he is different...he is usually not so outspoken..."

Henry can't help but agree with his sister. The way Edmund put him on his place is unusual. Prince Edmund has been very accomodating all these time, he always try not to offend anyone. He never behave this way.
