Chapter 2

TOBIAS/4 POV

I bring Tris along with me to the control room. We have to stop this vicious plan of theirs. I open the Dauntless secure files to find it newly updated. The update is from Erudite, explaining about the serum. True enough, like Tris said, it's not a tracker, it's a long- distance transmitter. They're gonna activate it tonight. They're gonna control the minds of an entire faction and turn them into murderers without their knowledge. Anger sweeps through me. This is like the most cruel thing I've heard of in my existance. They were going make all of us storm into that faction's headquarters and kill innocent people and as for Dauntless, how would it have been to wake up realise what you have done? I have to stop this.

I call Tris, who's waiting for me patiently on the other side of the room. She comes and I tell her all about what I found out. By the time I finish, she looks as if she's seen a ghost. I pull her to me.

"I was actually right?" She asks, still gobsmacked. 

" Yes, Tris. You really are a genius!" I tell her proudly." Now thanks to you, we're gonna stop this whole thing." I smile at her. 

First thing I do, print out all the files Erudite sent to us. We need them as evidence when we testify against the leaders. Next, we find out where the leftover serum is. And keep one of it for evidence and dispose the rest of it. I grab Tris and walk towards the train tracks. She looks confused.

"Where are we going?" She asks me.

"To Candor, we need to testify against the leaders, both Dauntless and Erudite leaders" I tell her. She nods in agreement.

"That's the only way we save Abnegation, right?" She asks. I nod.

We hear the train's blaring sound. We jump on the train and head to Candor.

"Let's go stop a war!" Tris says in a singsong voice. I laugh and nod.
