Chapter 7

TRIS POV

UGH!!! Dosen't he like to pay attention to people?! Why is he like this? But then again, why is he like that? Maybe he dosen't like me talking or something. Maybe he finds my voice annoying. Yeah, who'll like a voice like mine?,it's all squeaky and sounds annoying. Maybe that's why wasn't paying attention earlier. The thought makes something in me ache. Maybe I should learn to keep quiet around him. When people start filling the trial room, I quietly move away and stand in the corner of the room. He dosen't notice that I'm gone. After Niles signals the commencement of the trial, an angry looking Jeanine Matthews is escorted into the room. I have been wary of her all my life but now that I know her cruel motives, I hate her even more. She gets injected with the truth serum.

"Alright, Ms Matthews, Are you aware of the reason of your presence here?" Niles asks her.

"I am completely aware." She replies tersely.

"Am I correct to say that you are the lead role in this plot to destroy Abnegation?" Niles asks.

"Yes, you are absolutely right." She says. What did those innocent people even do to her? Why does she hate them so much? Now I know, she's just jealous of Abnegation because they're the governing faction. 

"May I know why do you have such motives against a faction?" Niles asks.

"I hate those bunch of self-righteous idiots! They've kept us from every piece of luxury our people deserve to have. You've seen the state of the city! Collapsed buildings everywhere and they don't even take a measure to fix it ! What kind of government is that?!!" She yells. That's no excuse. Dosen't she know the organisation my mum works in is considering all of that?! She's just jealous.

"Calm down, Ms Matthews. This is where your trial ends. Thank you for honesty." He finishes and everyone files out of the room. Well everyone except Tobias and myself. I look at him apologetically. I don't know what I did to annoy him. I give him a sad smile and go the train tracks back to Dauntless.
