Chapter 6: Survival Exercise

Like Kakashi said I arrived at five in the morning. At the same time I got here so did the other three. " 'Morning." Sakura greeted them while rubbing her eye.

Once we met in the middle we stood there waiting for our teacher. We stayed there for hours. At one point I even went to sleep.

Even more time has passed and Naruto Sakura and I were sitting on the grass as our stuff was in a pile and Sasuke stood up with his arms crossed.

"Hi, folks. Good morning!" Kakashi greeted us.

"You're late!" Naruto and Sakura yelled at the man.

"Well, a black cat crossed my path, you see," Kakashi said as he pointed somewhere else. Seeing as we weren't buying his excuse he coughed into his fist. "Ahem! Oh well..." he then walked over to a log and placed a clock on it. "Okay, it's set for 12:00!" He then pressed down on it starting the timer.

We all just blinked in utter confusion as he pulled out 2 bells. "Today's assignment is to take these bells away from me by noon. Those who can't do it won't get lunch." Kakashi started to explain. Naruto let out a scream as he heard no lunch. Kakashi then pointed to the logs. "They'll be tied to that... and I'll eat your lunch before your very eyes." The three kids groaned in hearing they may not be eating. Especially since none of us have eaten anything and stood out here for hours.

Sakura got up from her slouching while holding her stomach. "But, hold on. Why are there only two bells?" Sakura asked as she held up two fingers.

Kakashi was what I'm only assuming was smiling from under his mash closing his eyes. "There are only two, so at the very least, two of you will have to go to the logs. Those two will be disqualified for failing the mission... and will return to the Academy. It might be two people at the very least, or it could be all four of you. You can use your Shuriken. You won't be able to take the bells unless you come at me with the intent to kill me." He explained then put the bells in his hand. While he did they rang out.

'If I came at you with the intent to kill, you'd die.' I thought keeping a neutral expression.

Sakura spread her arms out. "But that's dangerous, sir!" Sakura yelled out. For such a smart person you sure do say dumb things.

"Y-yeah, that's right! You couldn't even evade a chalkboard eraser!" Naruto agreed and brought up yesterday.

"In this world, those who aren't skilled enough tend to complain more. Well, just ignore the loser..." Naruto seemed ready to actually kill him as he called him a loser. "Begin when I give the "ready-go" signal." From next to me Naruto looked like he was gonna pop a blood vessel.

Suddenly the blonde pulls out a Kunai from his weapon holster and runs at the teacher ready to stab him. Before anyone knew what even happened Kakashi was grabbing Naruto's head and with the other hand grabbed the hand Naruto had the Kunai in and held it to the back of his head. "Don't be so hasty. I didn't say start, yet." Kakashi said seeming as he was finally being serious.

Sakura, Sasuke, and I backed away a few steps getting distance between us and Kakashi. Our teacher let go of Naruto who held his wrist after being released. "But, that's fine. At least you came at me with the intent to kill me." The silver-haired man said then chuckled. "How can I put this...? I feel like I'm finally starting to like you guys. We're going to start." Hearing that we all got in a position so we could be ready to go. "Ready... start!" We then went to hide.

Well... except one loud blonde boy. Oh well, I can't be concerned with him I need to get to work. I start to walk deeper into the trees of the training ground. Once I get far enough I see a nice spot to set up my thread. It's gonna be hard to beat a Jonin much less take something from one so why not make it difficult. I may not end up getting a bell but this way I'll give him a hard time dealing with me.

I start to set up my thread high enough so I can stand on them if need be. I do a few hand signs to do a Jutsu. 'Cruel string prison.' I thought and then moved my arms away to see the web I created and put it on two trees that were very close together and keep the string attached to my fingertips.

I left the place I was at to go closer to where we once were to see if Kakashi is done manhandling Naruto. Much to my surprise though I see a bunch of Naruto's running to Kakashi and one Naruto on his back holding him. One of the Naruto who I can't tell is even the real one was going for a punch while all of the other ones held Kakashi still. 'I guess Naruto isn't a complete idiot after all. Maybe he can be useful to me.'

Although after he landed the punch it was another one of his clones that he had punched. Once he got to the ground he began yelling at his clone. The clones then started to beat each other up. 'I take back what I said. He's a complete idiot.' I thought sweat dropping from watching the mess I just witnessed. He then released the Jutsu resulting in a cloud of smoke and once that cleared there was only one Naruto standing there.

Naruto stood there looking beat up then saw something shiny. Crouching down he saw one of the bells that Kakashi must have "dropped".

Naruto's eyes went wide. "A bell?!" He yelled out then smiled. "You really must have been in a hurry. You've dropped a bell!" Naruto happily said as he ran towards the bell.

'You know I think I'll hold onto that.' I thought as I put up my hand to attach thread to the bell but not doing anything else.

As Naruto reached down to grab the bell he was caught in a trap and hung upside down from a tree. "What the heck is this?!" He yelled then continued to yell. "H-H-Hey!" Sorry, but you got yourself in that mess. "The bell!" He yelled as he tried to reach for it. This is pathetic.

Kakashi then grabbed the bell and Naruto stopped struggling to reach it. "You have to think when using Jutsu. They can be used against you." Kakashi informed as he put the bell in his hand. "Also... don't get caught in an obvious trap, you fool." The silver-haired man insulted. Naruto grew mad and started to move around and balled his fists up in anger. "A Ninja must see through deception!"

"I know that, I say!" Naruto yelled as he struggled to try and free himself by wiggling around.

"You know, I'm telling you because you don't get it. Listen up! Your movements are wasteful. You're so..." as Kakashi was telling Naruto everything wrong about his attacks Shuriken and Kunai fly at him stabbing him.

'Well it can't be Sakura, she was against using weapons on him. So Sasuke is finally attacking.' I thought.

"No way! You jerk Sasuke! You're overdoing it!" Naruto shouted at him.

As Kakashi's body hit the ground a cloud of smoke surrounded it and once it cleared a log hit the ground with Kunai and Shuriken lodged in it. Wow, substitution I'm so surprised. As if he's let himself get hit. We'll time for me to go I need to finish setting up my traps. Not even a minute later of walking I hear Sakura screaming somewhere in the distance.

Well looks like he just took her out. What a shame that is. Once again I hear her scream. Whatever. I go back to where I set some thread and quickly set up more keeping an eye on the finger the thread that's connected to the bell was shortening so I know if he's moving towards me. I stand on the thread that was higher than the others and waited.

3rd POV

As Kakashi got done manhandling Sasuke he then went to find y/n, reading his book as he went. As he made his way he saw a shadow in the distance. Looking around he didn't see the only person it could've been but as he kept going he came to a stop when he saw his hair fall to the ground. Looking up he saw y/n standing in the air glaring at him.

Okay all done short but whatever.
