His Obsession

Part 33

Corpse POV:

As Rebecca drove me to the hospital I've had time to collect myself. Yes I was very worried about her, but I need to stay calm. When I see her I don't want her to think anything bad is going to happen to her.

Rebecca: we're almost there.

My heart was beating out of my chest. I have no idea what's going with her. As we arrived I jump out of the car not giving Rebecca a chance to stop. I run to the front desk waiting for the nurse to get off the phone.

Corpse: excuse me!

Nurse: on second sir.

Corpse: I don't have a second!

I said yelling. I'm supposed to be remaining calm but I did the exact opposite. The nurse looked aggravated at me but I didn't care I need to see her.

Nurse: how can I help you?

Corpse: I'm looking for a woman named y/n! She was just in a car accident not to long ago. She about 5'6 and her car was Toyota Camry 2017. Also her-

Nurse: oh ok y/n I got it she in room 113.

Corpse: thank you.

Nurse: sir I wouldn't go up there so aggressively. She was just put in surgery you'll have to wait in the guest lobby.

Corpse: ok thank you.

I ignored her advice and went up there anyway. I just need to see her condition. It must be bad if she's already in surgery. After I talk to the nurse I went up to y/n's room. As I approached her door I see the doctor leaving out and closing the blinds.

Corpse: doctor! How is she ?

Doctor: are you her immediate family or husband?

When the doctor said husband I could help but blush a little. So yeah I lied.

Corpse: y-yes I'm the husband.

Doctor: ok we just went over her injuries and we have good news and bad news.

Corpse: o-oh what's the bad news?

Doctor: the bad news is that her soft tissues were injured which means muscles, ligaments and tendons. Which caused her to whiplash during the accident. There's also some bruised ribs that the other doctor is treating now. She'll definitely be in shock. When she wakes up she'll be in a lot of pain, which is the effect of all these injuries.

Corpse: what's the good news?

Doctor: the good news is she doesn't have any broken bones or life threatening injuries. Also she breathing on her own which isn't common in her state.

Corpse: oh thank god. Can I see her?

Doctor: not at this moment. There's two doctors in there treating her. It may take a while. Since you are the husband you'll be notified when anything changes.

Corpse: please let me see her doc. I need to.

Doctor: sir I'm sorry but-

The sound of y/n's room door opening interrupted our conversation. The other doctor came out to deliver news to the current doctor I was speaking to.

Doctor 2: sorry to interrupt but we finished with the treatments and she's awake.

Corpse: that's great can I see her?

Doctor 2: are you Corpse?

Corpse: I am.

Doctor 2: y/n's awake calling for you. She sent me to go and contact you.

Corpse: wait what she calling me?

Doctor 2: yes oh and when you get in there try your best to remain calm. You probably never seen her in this state just try to make the best out of the situation.

Corpse: h-how can I?

Doctor 2: talk to her about good news. If she sees you panicking that wouldn't help her feel any better. Tell her a joke or two. Anything would be helpful in this situation.

Corpse: o-ok doctor thank you.

I watched the two doctors walk away. I take a few seconds to walk in her room. I remember what the doctor told me "remain calm". The thought of that sounds impossible, but I need to do it. I take a deep breath and put my hand on the doorknob. Hands shaking and my heart pounding. I light twisted the door knob and push the door eyes not leaving the ground. I lifted my eyes off the ground and scanned the room. There was a big curtain across the room. Dividing the room in half. I seen the third doctor writing on a clipboard and preparing to leaving. The doctor gives me a quick smile before walking out and closing the door. "It's now or never" I said to myself as I put on hand on the curtain prepared to pull it back. I breathe in and out as I slowly pull back the curtain. The curtain revealing more and more of the hospital bed. I see the bottom half of y/n's body. I can hear her breathing shaking. I'm so fucking scared to pull this curtain back. The curtain is now pulled all the way back exposing the whole room and y/n. I kept my eyes slightly closed. As I was about to open them I here a shaky and raspy voice call my name.

Y/n: c-corpse?
