LAUREN'S POV:The mountain of books in my hands were getting too heavy to carry. I've made it from the library to the math rooms, which was a very long way at my high school.
"I just need to make it past this hallway and I can put these stupid books in my car." I whisper to myself.
They're for my English project which is worth about half my semester grade. I need to do well on this, which is why I'm carrying 12 books to my car on a Thursday afternoon.
I look up and see that I have one more door to get through before the parking lot.
There's no way I can open it myself without dropping everything in my hands. I suddenly hear the door open and blurt out.
"Hold the door please!" I see the door stay open with someone waiting next to it.
I can't quite make out who it is, their face was hidden by the hundreds of pages blocking my view.
"Thank you so much-" I make one step out the door and feel it close back onto me.
I stumble backwards and the books fall soon after. As they all scatter on the ground next to me, I look up with tears in my eyes.
Lisa's towering over me laughing as I quickly try to pick up all my books.
She's been tormenting me all year and I have no idea why. Up until Junior year I didn't even know who she was.
She's a senior, so it's especially embarrassing having her make fun of me in front of all her friends. Thankfully, no one was around to see me fall.
"Next time watch where you're going, you freak." She sneers in my direction.
"O-okay." Is all I manage to muster up.
She walks away with that stupid smirk on her face and I run to the door to hold it open with my foot. My books are back in my hands and I quickly kick my foot out to open to door.
I sigh as I finally make it to the car, driving home in shameful silence.
THE NEXT DAY
"I can't believe all you said was 'okay'. Like have a little backbone, you know?" Julia chuckles as I get my binder from my locker.
"I know, it's just so scary when you're in the moment with her. But I can't wait for the day I get to tell her off." I smirk at the thought of giving her a taste of her own medicine.
"Yeah, that would probably be your last day alive." Julia laughs as I roll my eyes.
"No-no. I mean it this time. The next time Lisa does anything rude to me I'm gonna tell her off."
"Promise?"
Just as I'm about to respond Lisa comes around the corner and slaps my binder to the ground. Her little group of seniors laugh and walk away as I kneel down to fit all my papers back into my binder.
I look at Julia and see she's trying not to laugh.
"Okay, next time. Promise." I say as she shakes her head.
The next two classes seem like they last forever. Math and science have always been my least favorite subjects.
I can't wait for lunch, though, they're serving my favorite food of all time. Pizza and mozzarella sticks.
The bell rings and I find Julia before we both head in the cafeteria and join the long line forming in front of the pizza.
"Ugh, look over there." Julia points her finger in the direction of the senior tables, specifically at Lisa.
"I'm praying that she doesn't come over here." I say while closing my eyes.
"Hey this could be the time where you finally stand up to her." Julia suggests.
"Yeah...maybe." The courage drains from my body thinking about actually doing it.
After about 10 minutes, which is pretty long for the cafeteria, I finally get my plate of pizza and mozzarella sticks.
My smile is quickly wiped off my face as I make eye contact with Lisa, smirking as she walks over to me.
"Shoot, shoot uh- Julia help me." Lisa makes it to where I'm standing and Julia stays in the corner.
"Hey, Lauren." Lisa says in a fake friendly voice.
"H-hi, Lisa." I never take my eyes off of the ground, not making eye contact with her once.
"Whatcha eatin there?"
"Just some uh- pizza." My eyes stay glued to the floor.
"What, you're too afraid to look at me?" I still don't budge so she brings one of her fingers to my chin, slowly raising it to meet her eyes.
"That's better." She takes my plate out of my hands and chucks it into the trash can next to her.
Her table of seniors jeer and points in my direction, making my cheeks go red.
"Awwww, little Lauren's embarrased. How cute." She starts walking away and before I know it my mouth is open.
"Hey....Lisa." She turns around with that same smile on her face waiting for my response.
"You're uh-" I carefully think of what to say, I definitely can't say anything too bad, I hate cursing.
"You're a piece of um- trash!" She scoffs as she tries not to laugh.
"That's all you got, Cimorelli?" My stomach starts burning as I realize what I'm about to do.
"Fuck you." It comes out as more of a suggestion and less of a comeback, but it takes her for surprise nonetheless.
She looks mildly shocked as she slowly walks over to me, coming inches from my face.
"What did you say? Speak up, freak."
"I said uh...fuck you?" She laughs as she looks around to her friends.
"You gonna take that, Lisa? From a little junior?" One of her guy friends yells from the table.
"No, of course not. You're coming with me, freak." She quickly grabs my hand and leads me out of the cafeteria, making me wish I just got another plate instead of standing up to her.
"OOOOH WHATS SHE GONNA DO TO HER?!" I can hear the seniors laugh as I gulp waiting for my impending doom.
SHOULD I MAKE A PART 2?? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS. Also let me know what sisters you want to see together and any one shot ideas. Have an awesome day!
