Chapter 24

Janet started cramping on the right side of her stomach, causing her to moan and groan and cry. Meanwhile, the family all stood outside the room waiting for some answers as to what had just happened to Janet. Michael walked up and down the hallway, panicking.

"Calm down Applehead. I'm pretty sure that the doctor has everything under control," said Jermaine. Michael didn't listen. He kept pacing back and forth up and down the hallway thinking to himself what if he loses Janet. What if he loses his only friend. He fell to the floor and started crying. Jermaine and LaToya ran over to help him up. "Michael baby, it's going to be alright. We just need to pray for her," said Katherine. "It's not going to be alright mother!," said Michael in a hostile tone which he didn't mean to use. Joseph looked at Michael. "Boy if you don't get yo ass up off that damn floor, I'm gonna-" "Gonna what? Whoop me?!," interrupted Michael. Joseph shook his head. "Oh whatever boy," he said as he walked to the waiting room to get himself a cup of coffee. Katherine followed him.

Screen fades to black.

Commercial break.

The scene centers around Joseph and Katherine fixing a cup of coffee.

"Joseph I want you to leave me and the rest of the family alone for now on." He looked at her as he was adding some cream to the coffee. "Woman, those are my children." "Well you don't act like they are. You treat them as if they were your slaves." "Katie, how many times are you going to keep punishing me for something that happened in the past. I told you that I was sorry and I still am." Katherine threw her head back and rolled her eyes. "You wouldn't be sorry if you hadn't done it in the first place." Joseph tried touching her hand, but she pulled away. "Don't touch me, why don't you go touch Cheryl," she said as she walked out of the waiting room sipping her coffee.

Meanwhile, LaToya and Jermaine were trying to get Michael to pull himself together.

"I hope everything is gonna be fine," said Michael. "It will be. Trust me," replied LaToya as she grinned and patted him on the back. Katherine walked towards them as Dr. Alonzo came out of the room. "I'm sorry for the long wait, but we are still running some tests on Janet," he said. "What is wrong with my baby sis doc?," asked Michael. "It's hard to say, but we think she may have had a miscarriage." Katherine fell to the floor.
