By the weeks end, they had been given their new swords. Everything within the cabin had settled, along with the slight struggle between Tanjirou and Sabito. At some point, the salmon haired male gave up on seeking answers, simply pushing his concerns away. That said, all four had not entirely been expecting to be tossed into a mission right out the gate. But here they were giving a fair well toward Urokodaki once more. They had been assigned together; this time. But in truth, all knew there was a chance they would separate in time. If two issues arose, there would be no doubt the group of four would be cut in half. It only made the raven hope that he remained with Tanjirou.
As they bid their goodbyes, they headed along the path. It was early morning on the Saturday, the sun high in the sky as it bore down on them. With the current season, it wasn't that unusual the sun was so welcoming. It always graced the lands with it's presence, offering such a pleasant warmth. It left Tanjirou to glance upward, letting the rays fall into his eyes. The brightness had never been an issue for him health why's; though it didn't mean he didn't go blind for a moment. That said, he was brought back to reality as black dots raced along his vision, Giyuu's voice being brought to attention.
"We got our mission on the Northern lands, which means we have a few hours to walk. I say we move until noon, rest, then head out after an hour. It will get us there by the peak of eve, where the sun just begins to set." Sabito nodded, Makomo falling to the back to let the two boys discuss. She lingered beside Tanjirou, who most the week had been quiet. How could he not? She had seen Sabito snap at him and even with an apology, their relationship was a bit tense still.
"I see you're wearing the haori that we made! We saw the one you had before we met, so we figured we'd make another. It goes quite well with those earrings, if I might add!" Makomo's small talk made Tanjirou chuckle, his fingers falling to his ears. He had pierced them to wear the earrings. To remind him of the home he once had. It was still hard to believe how much time had passed since everything. "You know, I'm sure Sabito didn't mean to be so harsh. He was just worried that day..."
"There isn't a need to explain. I was thinking irrationally and ended up causing trouble for everyone. I really do apologize on that front." She shook it off, smiling lightly. Her gaze shifted toward Sabito, still mid-talk before she patted Tanjirou's back.
"I already forgave your error, Tanjirou. But maybe apologize to Sabito. I'm sure it's what he's waiting for." The maroon haired male widened his eyes, laying his hands along both swords. He felt a small smile pull along his features, those gentle eyes so calm and honest.
"You're right. I've been avoiding him for the trouble I fear, but I do owe him an apology. I did make him worry, after all. Thank you Makomo!" She nodded, pushing him forward a bit as she snagged Giyuu's haori. The two boys still in discussion fell silent as Giyuu yelped, taken to the back as Tanjirou replaced the raven. It left a silence for a moment, Makomo and Giyuu slinking a bit further back to let the two have space. Giyuu gave a confused glance before Makomo simply smiled, just observing them as the four carried on the path toward their mission.
Up near the front, Tanjirou fiddled with his fingers. He was heavily nervous, not really sure how to start the conversation. Lucky for him, Sabito was aware of such facts. In all the years of knowing the other, most knew Tanjirou down to his very core. So when such pleasant words fell from Sabito, it caused the other to widen his eyes. To offer such a sincere smile.
"I apologize for getting angry this week. I was quick to my temper..."
"I can't say I blame you. My choice was dumb and very well could have ended badly. Luckily, it hadn't; but it doesn't excuse it. I never meant for Giyuu to lie for me, that alone was his choice. Even so, I wanted to say that I'm sorry. I should have thought about the situation instead of worrying you all." Sabito peered toward Tanjirou, seeing the partially saddened gaze. It made him chuckle lightly, that larger hand falling to Tanjirou's head.
