Sup ya'll! Got some good news... As well as bad news!
So for good news, I am attempting to keep a schedule. To post more frequently on this story and what not... The bad news, well; I'm sick. Not the good kind of sick. Hard breathing, sore throat, fever, all that jazz. Should be sleeping, but I love ya'll too much. I will take care of myself, but still try my best to give content to ya'll. Least you know why if I happen to slow my postings~~~
Either way, enjoy the chapter and leave feedback. Love reading the comments <3
Here's to hoping this ain't Covid and it passes quickly ^_^

An hour passing by signaled their travels. Both bound from the rock, headed along the pathway once more under the bright moonlight that cascaded the forests floor. It brought the space to life, bringing it to a soft glow that made it illuminated and safe. So cool, yet welcoming. Giyuu kept close to Tanjirou, just admiring the way the moon lit the sides. How it made Tanjirou's eyes so much brighter and softer. So vibrant and breathtaking. Though his attention was tossed aside when it was noticed he was staring. Luckily, Tanjirou kept from pointing out the obvious.
"Did they even specify who was teamed with us?" Tanjirou wandered through his thoughts, placing a hand on his chin as he carried on. It left Giyuu chuckling, that raven set of hair shifting slightly.
"They did not inform us. It's no doubt someone thrown onto the team for precaution."
"That's some questionable habit... Who doesn't tell a team whom to meet? Could be someone we know?!" Giyuu raised a brow, shaking his head. His look was skeptical, which was quickly noted by Tanjirou. It left the maroon to jab the raven, watching the taller stumble a bit before that smooth voice flowed so perfectly.
"You don't know anyone else beyond Sabito, Makomo, and I." Tanjirou smirked, pulling a cheeky smile across his lips. He stepped a bit forward, turning as he carried on backwards; letting those words wash over Giyuu.
"That's not true. I know this rather attractive guy, Giyuu~ Maybe even better looking then yourself~" Tanjirou stuck his tongue out, dodging Giyuu's lunge as he chuckled, racing down the path.
"Why you! I swear-" He could hear the raven chasing him, leaving the two in a fit of laughter as they headed toward their location; together.
They had only stopped chasing the other when they left the woodlands. Before them was a rather quiet village, not an ounce of light beyond the moons glow. It made the two aware that their jokes should be left to the side. Dismissing past scuffles, they trailed silently into the villages boundaries. There was no real designated meeting spot, so they chose the most logical. The inn was small, run down and rather shabby. But it was the most viable.
Slipping past the entrance, they saw the few tables. Saw the lack of bodies, beyond the one behind the counter like surface. There was a book splayed open, ink and quill beside it. Stepping toward the shabby surface, Tanjirou leaned a bit on his elbows as Giyuu took up the talking. That was how it always ran. Tanjirou wasn't a fan of speaking to strangers, so the raven filled that trouble and took the lead in social interactions.
"Good evening madam. We just happened to pass through for the evening and were curious about if you've seen anyone new arrive within the same hour?" The woman behind the counter gave a short nod, her gaze lingering along Giyuu's frame. She gave a long judgement, her smile rising as she spoke up, her finger twirling her hair slightly. It made Tanjirou frown, peering toward his comrade. It made him more than aware of Giyuu's obliviousness.
"Of course! I spoke with this traveler not too long ago. He booked a room claiming he was waiting for someone!" Giyuu nodded, giving a short smile. It made the woman squirm, Tanjirou gagging internally.
"I appreciate the information. Mind giving us a room for the evening?" There was a long pause for her, those judgmental eyes falling to Tanjirou. It left the maroon male with a smile, her words lingering in the silence.
"Together?" Her look made Tanjirou a bit agitated, his teasing nature appearing. He hooked his arms around Giyuu's, sticking his tongue slightly out before winking. All of which Giyuu noticed. It had become something he'd grown used to. Tanjirou had changed in the years, though nothing bad. He was just a bit more blunt on matters and more of a jokester.
"Of course~ We often share a bed, Ma'am!" Giyuu glanced to the woman before lingering back to Tanjirou, a sigh leaving him.
"Honestly... You always say some weird things..." Tanjirou chuckled, standing up straighter.
"So, can we have a room?" The woman gave a loud huff before nodding, shoving the book his way. Tanjirou happily jotted his name down, along with Giyuu's before taking the key she'd slid along the surface. Once in hand, Tanjirou gave a short wave before dragging Giyuu off. They made it to the first step before Tanjirou let words fall back to her. "Have a wonderful eve~ We'll see you in the morning; together!"

Have a comedic relief chapter before everything begins. Things get a bit more involved from here, so wanted to offer a bit of a filler that had some comedy attached. Hope you enjoyed and get ready for a long adventure. I promise it will be a rather dramatic and angsty one with enough fluff and what not to fill your souls~ <3
Also... The chapter is a bit shorter due to my being sick currently. Other chapters will be longer, but this is all I could offer tonight. Rest is a must... Let us hope I am able <3
