4 days after the battle of Illium.TMS Defiance (Council dreadnought)
For once in its history, the Citadel Council got its act together and rapidly assembled a diplomatic fleet to contact these newcomers. Over a dozen dreadnaughts, half a dozen spectres, and several dozen escort vessels arrived outside the relay leading to Illium. The Council invited many other species as envoys, including the Quarians, to many people's surprise. Everyone wanted to meet the newcomers, so they requested for their ships to stay. The newcomers agreed. Even the council itself decided to come along, wanting to negotiate with the newcomers themselves.
General Arterius, who was given command of the fleet, watched hastily as several dreadnaughts arrived and began discharging their cores. Over a hundred warships assembled while a constant train of mostly unarmed ships was prepared toentered the relay and to Illium to help rebuild.
"For once, I would like to say that we may meet our match and we did not bring enough guns." Spectre Saren Arterius said as he approached the General from behind.
"I suppose you're right. I doubt our dreadnaughts are going to do much against those beasts." the General sighed. "A thousand years of peace and stability has made us weak. Our technology has barely advanced, our population stagnates, and we're stuck using semi-outdated tactics."
"And they have many of those Titans. We saw the third one, let's just hope they don't have many more left to send." the spectre replied.
"Alright, nothing we can do, let's get ready. The Council wants to meet these people."
Destiny Ascension (Council Super-dreadnought)
For the first time in her life, The council was terrified. They had to get these newcomers to join the Citadel. Not only would their technology benefit the galaxy as a whole, but it would also allow the Asari to guide these newcomers into something easier to be managed.
Still, the fact that they had weapons that outmatched anything the Council could build worried everyone, Tevos most especially as it meant Asari superiority was in jeopardy.
Valern was busy looking over the recordings and scans of the battle, while Spartacus was busy scrounging up more combat vessels. Waiting with them were the representatives for the council, Sarisya (Asari Representative), Quentius (Turian representative), and Esheel (Salarian representatives).
"Alright, the Hierarchy has managed to send another half a dozen frigates and a cruiser. That's all they can spare for now. Valern, anything to note?" Spartacus asked.
"A few things. Besides the scans, we also received a first contact package from the newcomers. It has a basic history of each species and their respective alliances. There are two factions to note and the data of the ones that attacked Illium." Valern said. That was when STG Captain Kirrahe entered the room. "Since I don't have all the data on the newcomers, Captain Kirrahe is here to brief us."
"Welcome captain. Skip the formalities, what do we know about the newcomers?" Tevos asked.
"We know There were three factions: The Commonwealth of Man, Pact of Defiance, and the Curthian Clans. Starting with the Clans, They are a feline species that have been spacefaring for over a thousand years. However, they had some sort of massive collapse as prior to the attack, they were simply living on decrepit stations. However recently they attempted a large-scale crusade against the Pact and Commonwealth, though it failed and most of their fleets were destroyed. They attacked Ilium because they were hoping to have some sort of hostage against the Pact, though their enemies followed them faster than anticipated. As of this moment, all remaining clan holdings have been taken by either the Pact or Commonwealth." Kirrahe stated.
