Destiny Ascension Conference room.
2 hours after shots were fired.
To say that everyone with a high rank in the council fleet was emotional was a really big understatement. The Council was mad that their delegates shot a Human General. The Turians were slightly upset that the Humans violated a couple of key laws in Citadel space. The Salarians were less mad, more shocked at the fact that someone survived a point-blank mass accelerator round to the face. The Asari were mad because, well, their job got harder in preparing to integrate these people into the Citadel.
"WHAT IN THE GODDESS WERE YOU THINKING? THEY DON'T HAVE THE SAME LAWS AS US. NOW THEY'RE MAD THAT ONE OF THEIR GENERALS WAS SHOT." Tevos yelled at everyone.
"I already had the corporal who shot him disciplined and sent to the brig. " General Desolus said, a little exhausted.
"Ugh, this couldn't have gone any worse. First, these people, who are significantly stronger than us, use AIs, then we pissed them off." Tevos grumbled.
"Uhh, what's their status?" Spartacus asked.
"Increased fighter patrols, shields are up, higher power readings. It appears they are getting ready for war. That or they are just intimating us." Valern muttered as he listened to Citadel comms.
"Fantastic. First contact and we immediately piss them off by shooting one of their officers. Along with the Vanishing Angel, slavers, and the Geth, we have enough problems already." Spartacus grumbled.
"Wait, somethings going on. It appears that one of their battleships is heading back to the relay. Somethings going on." Valern reported.
"Could just be reliving another ship. Nothing to worry about." Tevos said.
Little did they know something important happened.
30 minutes ago, somewhere on the opposite end of Pact space.
UNAF Everest (Human Heavy Shock Battleship)
Admiral Hackett, commander of the 5th UNAF strike Flotilla, was admittedly bored. He had been assigned to patrol the Galactic South East, which he was fine with. After decimating several Khanate fleets, his flotilla sure could take a break while others did the mop-up. However, he ended up missing the first contact with the Citadel Council, While he wasn't upset, it was slightly disappointing that the command ordered him to the Northern part of known space instead of helping reinforce the first contact team.
"Status?" He asked his AI Sharma.
"Nothing much," she reported. "No contacts from our sensor ships, nothing in the next four systems within a 40 lightyear radius."
"Thanks Sharma." Hackett stretched out his arms. There was nothing out of the ordinary, it almost felt like overkill in sending his 100 ship flotilla out for recon.
Hackett then brought out the codex that he received from command, with all the information from the Citadel council. He decided to do some more research. While he felt bored, he understood why he was sent out. The Terminus Systems and Attican Traverse were North of Coalition Space. While there were currently no relays in that area, command decided to be cautious and dispatched a number of flotillas to patrol and guard several frontier systems.
Hackett finished reading over the codex and data, then looked over his computer screen to review reports from his ships. He planned to run a few more drills so his pilots weren't sitting around on their asses.
