The Destiny Ascension
20 minutes after being kicked off the Alerai.
"Hhhooowww? How did you idiots nearly try to kill the Human general again?" Spartacus was in disbelief, this was the second time Ross had an assassination attempt on him.
"He..he just came out of a portal! Spirits, a portal." Stammered the guards.
"GET OUT BEFORE I THROW BOTH OF YOU OUT OF THE AIRLOCK!" Spartacus screamed.
After the guards left, he slumped down into his chair and looked at the other Councilors, General Arterius, and Saren.
"So I take it that the Pact is mad?" Tevos asked hesitantly.
"We've been receiving death threats from the Pact fleet. The first time, they understood due to our fear of AIs. However, not only did we shoot a war hero and a super soldier, but also shot him without restraint. In addition, another 20 warships jumped into the system, a mixture of Commonwealth and the United Nations Allied Force." Spartacus grumbled.
"This portal technology. It could have grave consequences on our galaxy. The battleship that left with General Ross returned mere minutes before the portal opened. Ross must have travelled at least 40,000 kilometres." Valern reported.
"Great, just great," Tevos grumbled. "First contact with another species and it was going so well. Now we have a species that has access portal technology, can survive being shot point-blank, and has an extremely advanced technology base."
That was when an Asari crew member poked their head through the door. "Uh, Councilors, the Primarch, Matriarch Benezia, and Dalatrass Venzona wants to see you on the QEC."
"Put them through." Spartacus steeled himself for what they had to say.
The three most senior leaders appeared in front of the Councilors. "WHAT IN THE NAME ARE YOU DOING? WE SENT YOU TO ESTABLISH PEACEFUL FIRST CONTACT. NOW YOU SHOT ONE OF THE HUMAN GENERALS NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE?!" Fedorian shouted.
"We've already punished the guards-" Tevos was interrupted.
"Too late Councilors. 1000 warships just jumped into each of our home systems. They're claiming that several of your guards attempted an assassination on of their most highest-ranking officers and are threatening to fire if we make any moves." Benzia said with a scowl.
"A thousand in each system? How did they get thi- wait, they didn't use the relays didn't they?" Tevos asked.
"Correct, all 3000 ships jumped right above our homeworlds via unknown means. So far, they've refused all communications. We've mobilized the fleets but there are more of the 20 Kilometer sized vessels, at least 2 per fleet. It seems that our assumptions that most of their Titans were above ilium were false." the Dalatrass spoke.
"Spirits, what are they planning now?" Spartacus stated, in shock.
Meanwhile, on the Alerai.
"Wait, you're saying that the Geth want to return the homeworld to us? How did you get in contact with them?" Admiral Koris asked in shock. Many of the other admirals were stunned as well.
"Around a day ago, the Geth arrived into one of our frontier systems with a small fleet. They were there to return a lost Human who was trapped on of their worlds in an accident. In exchange for returning the Human, who will remain unnamed until we can source their family, they wanted to return Rannoch to you and asked us to tell you." Ross stated in a calm matter.
"Ancestors, the Geth of people? Now? How do we know this isn't a trap?" Admiral Gerrel asked.
"AIs don't lie, especially hivemind ones like the Geth. it's illogical for them to do so. Besides, we're offering a full Flotilla to act as escorts. You've seen what our ships can do, we're more than willing to be escorts." Ross offered.
