God, how much do these guys sleep.
I've been awake for about an hour now, tossing around in the 4 beds span I have to play around.
Maybe I should workout like I did when I was in Mazashi.
Yup, Time-wasting isn't gonna do anything.
So I got up and started doing some pushups.
One
Two
Three
Four
F-Five
It felt harder for the most part, maybe my body's gone too long without working out.
S-Six
S-S-Seven
Eigh-Eight
N-N-Nine
Oh god it's definitely harder. I can feel my hands giving out. But It's not enough, I need to do at least 25.
T-T-Te-
I collapsed. Phew, I could do about 30 without breaking a sweat back in the days.
I guess I'll try my flexibility. I stretched my hands to try and touch my fee-
Oh god no it hurts help me-
What happened, I could touch my toes before.
I'm becoming stiffer these days.
Maybe I'll continue my workout tomorro-
"Working out early in the morning?"
I quickly turned around to face the princess, Akemi standing near the front entrance.
Did she see me collapse from mere ten pushups.
Oh god I can feel my cheeks turn red.
She walked past my sweaty self and saw the other spirit hosts sleeping.
"They are a lazy bunch, aren't they?"
"Milady, wh-why did you come to see us?"
My dumb brain couldn't phrase it better.
"Oh right, I had to deliver a letter to you"
WHY IS THE DAMN PRINCESS DELIVERING A LETTER TO ME?
Aren't there STAFF for this very purpose??
"It's from your fellow villager at your village"
WHY IS THE PRINCESS DELIVERING A LETTER TO ME THAT IS FROM WAY BACK IN THE BOONIES. WHAT???
Well I payed no mind and picked up the letter she threw towards me.
"It's from Ms. Kirumi!"
Ms. Kirumi is the caretaker of the orphans at the village.
I read the whole letter.
I didn't notice but I was smiling the whole way.
It really was fun getting a letter, I'd be sure to write back.
Princess Akemi was sitting on one of the empty beds beside me.
I folded back the letter in the envelope and put it back in my bag.
"Well then, I will take my leave", she got up.
"Wait, Milady!"
I was really curious, I had to ask.
"May I ask a question if you don't mind?"
"Sure"
"Why were you so flustered when we were apologizing?"
"Th-That is of no concern to you"
Her cheeks again got a bit red, she ran off without another word.
What the hell is wrong with her.
Anyways I'll go and train with my dagger I guess.
I always set an objective for myself, and if i don't complete that objective, I have to do a penalty.
For example, if I can't swing this dagger 100 times, I will go and do 20 pushups.
But I couldn't even do 10 pushups just now.
Ah well. Guess I'll get to it...
.
.
.
.Time passes quickly, the sun's halfway to noon now, the other spirit hosts went into the restrooms and freshened up.
I was sweaty too so I went and got in a shower stall.
Aaah~ The water felt great.
All that fatigue just got washed off with the water. I felt like a new person.
Looks like breakfast's here.
It was a lot more than last time, for some reason, roasted chicken, fried eggs, boiled potatoes with some carrot and beans.
We opened the packets at out own beds and started eating.
Delish.
Oh right today was the day we go to the shrine to get our spirit beasts.
Maybe they are getting us to eat so that we have more energy for today?
If that's the case, well I don't mind as long as I get free food.
I finished my whole packet, and saved a potato and a carrot for when I feel like it
We were gonna get lunch after we come back from the shrine anyways.
The shrine is basically where the spirit beasts dwell. There are seven, one on each Island.
We saw the other spirit hosts from other parts of Diamond Island in the hall from where we would depart.
Diamond Island is so big that it's divided into 4 sectors of its own. Mazashi is in the section east of the capital.
The capital is in the middle of Diamond Island, which acts as the point of intersection of the four sectors' boundaries.
The shrine on Diamond Island is a government secret and nobody really knows apart from the king, his most loyal ministers and workers, and people like that old man who recruit spirit hosts.
Well we left south-east of where we were, in the capital on horses.
Everyone came by horses, we were the only ones who came by bullock carts.
Why?
Horses were apperantly too fast for the old man. Damn old people.
Well I have ridden a horse or two back in Mazashi, ok I lied.
I rode a goat there.
Horses are sort of like, reserved for the people of the upper class. I was being given one anyways.
The horses were fast. Like really fast.
We reached at the shrine in 25 minutes of riding.
Why couldn't another person get assigned to the East Sector.
The shrine was located deep in a cave, we ventured down, by posting our horses back in the entrance of the cave and leaving a watchman there who came with us. The caves were lit with glowing blue mushrooms and-
biolunime-
biolumince-
biolumines-
I give up,
Glowing insects .
There were just 100-ish spirit hosts, a minister and 5 guards assigned to guard us, and the princess.
We were all venturing down the dimly lit cave-
AND THE PRINCESS??? WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE DOING HERE??
