Anakin felt Obi-Wan's presence in the Force before they heard the roar of star fighters flying overhead.
Gingerly, he touched Kiara's shoulder. She bolted awake, breathing heavily with a panicked look on her face.
"Shh, it's ok. It's just me" Anakin said softly, brushing the stray curls from her face. Her brown eyes met his and her tensed body relaxed.
"I think our ride is here" He pointed upwards.
She clambered out of his arms and peeked her head out of the hole. Two star fighters had landed on the dusty desert. Joyfully, she climbed out of their tiny shelter.
Anakin followed more slowly, cringing all the way. He stretched and winced.
"Anakin!"
Obi-Wan jogged towards them.
"What on earth happened?" He asked, seeing Anakin's pain.
"We decided to take a little vacation" Anakin joked weakly. Obi-Wan just scowled at his former apprentice.
"Come on" he led the way to the fighters.
Anakin began to climb up to the cockpit of the first when Kiara caught his arm. She shook her head at him.
Obi-Wan understood.
"We'll need a transport to the med ship" he said into his comm.
"Acknowledged" came the crackly reply.
Anakin growled and grumbled under his breath, but he didn't argue.
A larger transport descended from the sky. It landed a few yards away from them.
"We'll have you patched up in no time. We need you in top condition" Obi-Wan said.
Anakin rolled his eyes.
"All I need is a couple hours of sleep" he said indignantly.
Obi-Wan glanced at Kiara. She rolled her eyes at him. He stifled a laugh.
The trio walked to the ship. Once on board, Anakin and Obi-Wan sat in the med bay while a med droid examined Anakin's injuries. Kiara went to meditate in a small cabin.
"She saved my life, Obi-Wan". Anakin said quietly. Obi-Wan rested a hand on Anakin's shoulder.
"I'm supposed to be helping her, but she's the one that had to save me" Anakin whispered.
