One Last Time

A/N: For my Hamilton followers, you can kinda guess what this is about. Anyways this is a Cinder and Kinney BROTP fic and other than Cinder and Wolf, they are severely underrated. Please vote and comment. I hope you like it!

"Your Majesty," Kinney said as he opened the door to the Queen's office, "you asked to see me?"

Selene (or Cinder what she liked to be called) was staring at the window where it showed a beautiful view of Earth, when in the right spot. He would argue it was one of the most beautiful spots in the palace, and the palace was full of beautiful spots.

"I know you're busy," she said without tearing her eyes from the scene. Her hair was in some sort of intricate bun, no doubt Iko or Tressa made it, making her look regal like a Queen should look.

He inched towards the desk, "What do you need, miss?," Selene didn't respond, "Your Majesty?"

"I want to give you a word of warning-"

"I don't know what you heard but whatever it is, Iko started it."

She turned around and said, "Iko went to Earth this morning."

Kinney snorted, "You're kidding."

Selene walked around the desk and dragged her fingers on the fine wood. Without meeting his eyes, she continued, "I need a favor-"

"Whatever you say, Your Majesty, Iko will pay for this behavior," he shook his head, "I can't believe she went to Earth again, what is it, fashion week?"

"Shh, talk less-"

"I'll see to her and get her to come back, you'll see what I can do to her."

"I need you to draft an address-"

"Yes! You're going to publicly shame her- wait."

"Kinney! No, she left because," she paused and shook her head, "because she's going to fight the mutants," Selene frowned, "that's not even the point of this conversation."

"I have a hard time believing that, Your Majesty."

"I'm stepping down, I'm abdicating the throne."

Kinney blinked, "I'm sorry, what?"

She sat down, "one last time," noticing that he was tense, she smiled, "relax, have a drink with me."

"You can't drink."

"Shut up," she poured the drink anyway, "one last time, let's take a break tonight."

She slid him his glass, "and then we'll teach them how to say goodbye."

"To say goodbye?" he asked astounded. What in the world is she thinking? Queen Selene Channary Jannali Blackburn was by far the fairest ruler Luna has had in a long time, possibly never.

Selene nodded, "you," she gestured, "and I."

"Your Majesty, your court is ready for you," Tressa poked her head. Kinney glared, she stuck her tongue out and then smiled at Selene.

"Thank you, Tressa," his sister left, "come on Kinney."

"Wait, Your Majesty, no-"

"I'm leaving without you if you're going to lecture me."

He frowned and followed his queen.
