Oscar got so confused by his words but by then, it was already too late. All he saw was that the head of the spear that the Avatar was holding, is coming at full force towards him, aiming for his stomach. He tried to dodge but he was not fast enough. He waited for his end to come, thinking if this journey was worth it at all as he has not obtained the Crystal Ball. And what's more, the child is going to suffer under the blue creature. He closed his eyes and time seemed to slow down around him.

Only, the pain didn't come. When Oscar looked down, all he saw was that Arthur is lying still on the ground, bleeding. Pain shot through Oscar's heart as all he could see is the Owl breathing its last.

He turned to glare at the Avatar and shouted, "What did I ever do to you?! Arthur was the only one I had in memory of my parents and you killed him! YOU KILLED HIM! You wanted the child, right? YOU WANTED THE FREAKING CHILD! So, I'm giving him to you."

Samuel then came out from his hiding spot when he heard what Oscar said. That's when he spoke out, "Master... The creature that you attacked is my older brother and you've misunderstood him. He came to get me not because of something else but rather, it's because he is my family. I tried to tell you earlier but you shot towards him..."

That is when Oscar suddenly realized his mistake. He assumed the worst of things and then attacked without thinking. He turned towards the Avatar and ignoring the bleeding and intense pain of his injury, he presumed the position of kneeling with one knee.

He bowed his head in shame and then spoke, "I am sorry for the misunderstanding sir, but if you could. This humble being is asking sir to save this humble being's pet Owl from death's door. He's the only family member that I have left of this world."

Noticing how Oscar was apologizing to him, his gaze became a bit warmer. Nevertheless, Jake masked it with indifference.

"I also apologize for the attack; I only took the child with me as he was so pitiful and he had no one to rely on despite his young age. He was safe and sound under my care and you can take him back."

The Avatar was surprised as he thought he took his little brother out of selfish desires in the first place. And that is when he concluded that his henchman probably thought the worst of elves because Oscar is an elf himself too.

He motioned towards Samuel and the child came running towards him to hug him. "Brother!"

"I thought I was alone, I thought you were gone too!" Samuel hugged him so tightly and tears fell from his face.

He sniffled and opened his mouth, "Actually, Oscar became my master in this past week that I was with him because he treated me as his disciple. He taught me a lot of stuff and that included hunting for food, how to protect myself and what materials to use under different situations. Master meant no harm and took good care of me when I was lost in the woods."

The Avatar coughed a bit and looked at Oscar. "Let me introduce myself, my name is Jake Sully, and I am the leader of the Avatars."

Jake then whistled and Night One came to his side with a swish. "Take the Owl to the Tree of Life to see if he could still be saved."

"Yes, my Lord."

Oscar looked at Jake with red eyes and finally broke down. "Thank you! Thank you so much for saving him!" Tears flowed down his face and he finally passed out from all the pressure and fatigue he was feeling these past few months.

...

When Oscar awoke, all he could see around him were pink vines hanging from tall trees. He was confused as to where it currently is and sat up. All he could see are the pink vines, rocks covered with a layer of green vines as if it is used as sheets to cover the rocks.

That is when something flurry came towards him and he subconsciously embraced it. When he looked down, he saw that it was Arthur.

Arthur is alive! Haha!

"Arthur! Thank the Lords, you're okay. You had me worried there for a second." He smiled happily while hugging Arthur tightly in his arms. He was so glad that his pet is still alive. He then took a chance to look around, only to feel that his surrounding is a bit surreal.

With the pink vines hanging, it is like he has been transported to a place where it is very vibrant and full of life. "Where am I?" Just as he was wondering where he was taken to, the rustling sounds interrupted his thoughts and he looked towards where the sound came from.
