For the past few weeks, I've been in therapy...working hard. Shaka's the best, he's been at every single one. I love him for that, but he didn't have to. He hasn't gone back to the dojo. He'll go back next year, when his temper has calmed down. He wants to hurt Legend, bad. The worst part of the whole thing is that my mom told me I can't see Shaka anymore. She thinks ever since I met him my life is getting worse. Whenever I go over to his house, I lie and say I'm going to get extra practicing with my walking. Speaking of my walking, I've gotten so much better that I can walk on crutches. Still, Shaka insists he carry me sometimes. Just like he just did right now. Bridal style, up the stairs, to Jade's room. He wanted to get some "dirt" on her.
Elvis: "I'm not so sure about reading Jade's journal, Shaka. It feels like we're snooping."
He says sitting my crutches down.
Shaka: "You don't get it since you're the only child, but the first rule of the sibling game is to stay one step ahead of your sister."
Y/n: "You didn't need to carry me. I could've crawled."
I say getting my crutches and leaning them on the wall. He looks at me with a "are you serious" face.
Elvis: "He means 'Gurlllll, you really think I'd let you walk' "
Y/n: "I knew what he meant."
I said rolling my eyes playfully.
Elvis: "Now, back to Jade. You're staying ahead by reading her innermost private thoughts?"
Shaka: "Her lock combo is 1 2 3. She's practically begging for me to read it."
Elvis throws his hands up.
Y/n: "What are you even looking for?"
I sit on the ground cause my legs got tired. Why not on the bed? Because it's too soft and doesn't support my legs the right way.
Shaka: "Anything I can use against her- ah-ha-ha Jackpot! According to this, Jade's been sneaking out to see Royale. Her new boo."
Elvis drops to his knees next to me.
Elvis: "WHY GOD? WHYYY?"
He says crying.
Y/n: "Ohhhhh, teaaaa. Let me see!"
He leans it down towards me and Elvis.
Shaka: "Look..."
Y/n: " 'This time it's for real. I like like Royale.' "
Elvis: "It cuts like a knife."
Shaka sighs.
Y/n: "Stand up."
I said rolling my eyes.
Shaka: "Trust me, you're better off without her. The Jade you see? She don't wake up like that."
Elvis stands up.
Elvis: "Put it back. Betraying her privacy's not right. I'm gonna have to tell Jade."
He walks towards the stairs.
Y/n: "Not if you want a future with her."
He turns really quick.
Shaka: "You think she's gonna want you after you've read her...innermost private thoughts?"
Elvis: "Wait, what are you talking about? You made me look at it."
Y/n: "You could've closed your eyes."
Shaka: "Now you're just as dirty as I am-"
Y/n: "As we are"
Shaka: "As we are!"
Elvis: "Jade was right. You really are the demon seed."
Shaka laughs. We hear a door open and footsteps coming towards Jade's room.
Elvis: "That's Jade! Hide!"
Shaka picks me up and puts me behind the bed. He then puts away Jade's diary and briefcase. Elvis just stands straight up tall.
Elvis: "If we're real still, she won't see us."
Y/n: "That only works in movies. Hide!"
I say pulling him down. Jade comes up the stairs with her headphones on. She sits on her bed. Shaka helps me up while Elvis grabs my crutches. But then Jade gets back up. Shaka and I duck down, but Elvis stands up straight again. Jade walks right past him. Shaka and I look up in unison. Elvis looks at us and smiles.
~Time Skip~
I was laying on the bench on the porch while Shaka was standing with a football.
Shaka: "You know, I never would've thought."
Y/n: "Thought what?"
Shaka: "Well, that my girlfriend would get hurt cause of me..."
He sat next to me.
Y/n: "It wasn't your fau-"
Shaka: "But it is! I'm the one who convinced you to go to the dojo. I should've stopped y'all sooner. I just keep replaying it in mind!"
Y/n: "Look at me."
I grab his face and turn his head.
Y/n: "Shaka, it's not your fault. I took it too far with Legend."
Shaka: "But-"
Y/n: "But nothing. You always take the blame. I was in the wrong."
He sighs.
Shaka: "Okay...but it's still doesn't get rid of the guilt I feel."
He kissed my forehead and stood up. He tosses the football a couple of times.
Y/n: "Here comes Jade. Remind me what we're doing again?"
He smirked at me.
Shaka: "Blackmail."
Y/n: "Whenever you smirk, I get scared."
I laugh a little.
Shaka: "Think fast!"
He throws the football at Jade. She dodged it.
Jade: "If that ball would have hit me, I would have hit you. Hard."
Y/n: "Well, that would be a Royale mistake."
Shaka faces forward.
Jade: "What did you say?"
Shaka: "I wouldn't want you to do anything Mom and Dad might frown upon, like...I don't know, sneak out of the house to see your new boyfriend."
Jade walks angrily towards Shaka.
Jade: "You read my journal?! I am going to kill you!"
Y/n: "Not unless you want us to tell."
She sighs and calms down.
Jade: "What do y'all want?"
Shaka: "Not much. Just for you to become our...personal assistant."
He said sitting down and crossing his legs.
Jade: "For how long?"
Shaka: "Until I leave for college."
Y/n: "Now Shaka-"
Jade: "But I leave first."
Shaka: "Will you though?"
Jade: "Okay, you know what, I'm about to-"
Shaka: "About to what?"
He pointed at her.
She sighs.
Shaka: "I thought so. I'll ring when I need you. Bye-bye."
Jade starts walking inside when Shaka rings his bell on his phone.
Jade: "What?"
Shaka: "Just testing. Leave me."
Jade goes inside.
Shaka: "It feels good to be king."
Y/n: "Shaka, wasn't that a little harsh?"
Shaka: "You would understand if you had siblings."
He laughed at his own remark.
Shaka: "Speaking of that, you blackmail really good to be an only child."
