"...Fine, you owe me a favor this time."

Asteria looked at Cale as the latter didn't respond.

This crazy bastard-

"Choi Han." She called out to the raven haired swordsmaster.

"All of you have been reading the chapters from Cale's life as if you're reading a novel- which you basically are- but you do realise that you're peeking into someone's life, no less, right?"

The said swordsmaster and the others nodded. Of course they know. Even if they actually had the concerned party's permission, it was nothing less than living life in his perspective, being aware of his thoughts and decisions. His past and future were laid out in front of them to choose from.

"Do you know why I lessened your strength?"

Toonka replied,

"Isn't it because we'll destroy your 'precious' mansion?"

Cale looked at the star-turned-human and wondered why she was bringing it up all of a sudden.
His expression turned into a 'what-bullsh*t-is-she-spouting-now?' one.

"It's one of the reasons but there's another reason. Don't you feel that there's something off? Why are you able to so easily gain access to his past and future?"

Cale suddenly remembered, a record that didn't seem to be his own yet seemed to belong to him played in front of him.

He realised that it was indeed strange. Even the god of death would get a backlash for using their powers like this. Although he didn't want to admit it, it was a legitimate question. Why is nothing happening to them, mere humans, when even those so-called gods suffered from the consequences?

"Is that because you're,as you mentioned earlier, not a god assigned here?" Alberu asked, his eyes narrowed at the term 'assigned'.

"Yes, and another reason is because all of you are watching it together. Remember I said that only some of you will retain your memories?"

"Who said that you'll remember all of this? Well, some of you may remember but that's another story."

Everyone nodded.

Asteria feigned a bored expression and said a bit dramatically,

"Why would I waste my time, energy and power by bringing useless humans-" her sharp gaze turned to the forgotten imperial prince who had been quiet from the start except for a single sentence he said and others who were with him.

"-who wouldn't even remember all of this..?"

(Aoi: sorry, I really, like really really hate that bastard prince. He just gets on my nerves.)

"The backlash is avoided due to the number?" Cale asked.

"Correct! As expected of Cale! You can call it an overkill? Yep, You share the burden among yourself enough that you don't feel it's a burden at all! You can also relate this to the dragons' growth phases but in reverse order. The more stronger you are, the more severe backlash you'll face. Something like that."

Everyone had a look of realisation as the goddess explained to them with the familiar terms.

"While you are reading the chapter that I'm going to show you all, you, Choi Han, will recieve something you were supposed to receive in the chapter's original timeline. Of course, it's not harmful, hell, it's even beneficial if you ask me. But, there will be a backlash."

Choi Han looked at the goddess.

"What kind of..."

"Well, you'll be unconscious like Cale gets when he overuses his ancient powers. Of course, I'll start the chapter after you wake up."
