The whole room was silent initially until it slowly filled up with faded talks.

I kept on standing on the same spot, frozen and looked here and there with embarrassment on my face.

He started walking and then slowly rushed out of the room.

I closed the door and hurriedly searched for her.

I hope she didn't go too far.

I went down the staircase and found nobody except for the receptionist.

"Uh, excuse me, have you seen a girl wearing a purple-colored dress and I guess, white-colored heels. She had open ha—"

"Yes, I just saw her running outside a few seconds ago. She was probably crying but I'm not sure" he pointed his index finger towards the entrance door.

"T-thank you"

I ran outside the party hall and looked everywhere to expect her presence somewhere nearby.

Soon, I saw her walking towards my left so I ran behind her.

The moment I came close to her, I held her wrist which made her stop.

She tilted her head and looked behind. She snatched her wrist away from my hand's grip and started walking faster.

I hugged her tightly from behind and she tried to release herself from my grip.

"S-stop. Leave me. Leave me alone" she kept pushing my arms away while crying.

"I-I said stop, Jason. Just stop it."

Melissa's POV

(Before Jason came)

I dragged my feet to walk on the path beside the road.

My heart was racing and tears didn't stop rolling from my eyes despite wiping them off my cheeks continuously.

Why did he do that? He really thought that it was a joke?

I guess he's not the one for me.

Suddenly, I was stopped by Katie.

"Woah. Mel, relax"

"W-what are you doing here?"

"Y-you're cry—"

"Aren't you supposed to be there? At the...party?"

"You're kidding me? Do you think I'd leave you?' She put her thumb on my cheek and wiped a teardrop off. "In this situation?"

I was silent and then hugged her tightly.
