CHAPTER 33

"Um, nothing!" I chuckled.

"Ok," he snapped expressionlessly.

Some time passed and all we did was sit quietly, rather awkwardly.

"Oh wait!" he broke the silence. 

I looked towards him with a questioning look.

"We gotta set up the interiors of our tent, right?"

I looked around the tent and realized something.

"Seriously? We don't even have enough space!" 

"We'll figure it out" he shrugged.

"Why are you so keen on doing it?" I raised an eyebrow.

"You know what? If you don't wanna do it, at least let me" he gave a fake smile.

I scoffed. "You don't need my permission for that"

"I never asked for it anyway" 

I rolled my eyes. "Fine, I'll help you, I guess."

"Wait really?" his eyes sparkled with happiness.

I nodded and hummed in response.

"Aww, so generous!" he leaned forward to hug me but I pushed him away.

"I'm just a good person, you know? And don't expect any other of those things from me. We're together right now because we're a pair. That's it"

"C'mon—" he whined with puppy eyes.

"Stop Jason! Those puppy eyes won't ever work on me" I looked away.

"You're being weird" 

I looked back at him and scoffed again. "Excuse me? Weird? Sure!" I paused. "It's good being weird than boring anyway"

He didn't respond back and I was glad.

Soon, we were called outside to just spend some time out of our tents. 

The moment I went outside, I was suddenly pushed towards my right. I frowned and noticed that Mia had pushed me to come in between me and Jason.

"Hi Jas!!" she smiled while clinging onto him.

"Uh, um yeah hi!" he looked at me and everywhere else awkwardly.

"Aww, what happened? Too nervous?" she hit his chest softly and giggled.

"Uh," he slightly pushed her clinging body from his. "Mia, just go"

"What? Why?" she pouted.

I cleared my throat.

She looked towards me and rolled her eyes.

"What now," she paused. "Trash?"

"Excuse m—" I stepped forward.

"Whom are you calling trash, huh?" Jason raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, um, no one babe!" she chuckled nervously. "C'mon let's g—"

"No" he raised his voice. 

"Please!!" She wined. 

"Fine" he snapped and went with her.

I was honestly shocked that he agreed to go with her. But I really shouldn't care. I shouldn't.

I hope I don't.

It was night as I looked up at the sky. The stars twinkled brightly with a gibbous moon that found its space among them. 

We were then called for dinner so we assembled near a large area and sat down. 

The teachers gave us boxes which they had ordered from a restaurant a while ago. 

Soon, after finishing up our food, I went back inside the tent and made myself some space to sleep.

"We're actually sleeping together," a voice from behind distracted me from what I was doing.

I sighed and looked behind.

"Why do you always make these things so flirty?" I looked away and went back to setting up my space.

He came inside and sat next to my space.

"I really wasn't. I was just stating a fact" 

"Well, I have eyes, Jason. I can see that too" I rolled my eyes.

"Why are you always so cold towards me?" he looked at me as I continued my work.

I sat down and laid down opposite his presence. "I don't care. Shut up now!" I snapped.

I heard him mumble something under his breath as he laid down too. 

Well, I honestly hate to be cold to him. Why? Because I still like him, of course. But I need to move on from that jerk. 

I know being cold is not the best decision but I can't think of any other alternative because I'm dumb.

-Next Morning-

I opened my eyes and grabbed my phone to check the time.

8:00 AM

I got up and realized that he wasn't there. 

I went outside and wandered around.

"Hey!! Morning!!" I felt someone put their arm on my shoulder suddenly. 

I flinched and tilted my head to see who it was.

"Morning!" I smiled. It was just Katie hehe.

"So what's the plan for today?" I asked.

"Oh, uh today we just roam around the place." 

"Oh ok!" 

"By the way, how's he doing?" she smirked.

"W-what do you mean? How would I know?" I chuckled softly.

"Well, you slept with him right?"

"Oh yeah, I slept well. Don't worry!" a voice interrupted Katie. It was Jason's obviously.

"Uh um, ok.." she smiled slightly out of embarrassment.

"How about you?" he asked.

"Me too," I answered expressionlessly.

He went away.

By that time, guess who came. 

Mia. 

"What do you wa—" 

"Can we switch partners?" she snapped.

She glared at me deadly.
