I sat on my bike staring at the school. All those smart kids came out with their 100% cotton sweaters wrapped around their necks as if the world was a perfect spectrum that they new everything about. The boys had their hair cut short and wore pants that fit them too tight.
That was when I saw her. Harmony. My secret girlfriend of two years. The reason I skipped my final class everyday. It was for her.
She walked over to me with her head looking at the ground. There were tears in her eyes and a wet trail across her cheeks.
"Luis, I ... uh ..... think we need to break up."
I was confused, she'd never brought something like this up before in our conversations.
"Harmony...whats wrong?"
"I just don't think we are right for each other"
I looked behind her and noticed a boy who was taller than me. He had tight kaki pants on and a sweater wrapped around his neck.
I pulled her in close to me, gently grabbing her arm. Harmony screamed in pain.
Slowly, I pulled up her sleaze and noticed a bruise around her wrist. I continued to pull up her sleeve and it revealed cigarette burns and other bruises.
Looking into her eyes, I noticed that tears forming more prominent in her eyes.
"Did he do this to you? " I asked. She slowly nodded.
I ran over to this boy. He'd hurt Harmony. He had to pay.
I could feel anger running through my vains. I ran over to the boy and punched him in the face. He fell down and rubbed his cheek.
The boy got back up. This action for some reason made me more angry. He walked over to me and stared at me in my eyes.
As I grew angrier, I began to feel hotter. My head began to pound. The heat was unbearable.
As I shot my arm out to punch the boy, it erupted into flames. I swung at him hitting him in the face. This time he howled in pain. His face began to blacken.
As I watched him, I felt a prick on my neck. He'd gotten what he deserved. Everything soon became black.
