Michael was sitting in the living room, watching a movie, or rather he tried to watch a movie. He found it difficult to concentrate on the screen. His thoughts kept on drifting to Jessie, and it was painful and frustrating at the same time. He knew he shouldn't think about her because she had probably moved on. Michael had advised himself several times not to think about Jessie or ponder over where she was, but his mind simply wouldn't listen to him.
He sighed and closed his eyes. A few seconds later, he opened them when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Michael looked over his shoulders and saw Ariel.
"Hey," Ariel said softly.
"Hi. Come take a seat." Michael gestured at the space next to him. He knew Ariel wanted to say something to him, but she was reluctant about It. "Is there something you want to say to me?"
Michael watched as Ariel opened her mouth but shut it when no words came out of it. Ariel slowly shook her head.
"Come on, Ariel. Spill it," Michael ordered gently.
"Well, I was wondering if you will..." she trailed off. She played with her hair and avoided her uncle's gaze. “Umm, do you want to talk to Jessie?"
Hearing Jessie's name made Michael's heart skip a beat. He looked at Ariel in bewilderment. "Jessie?" Even calling out her name made his heart beat faster. "Do you know where she is?" His voice sounded hopeful.
"Not really.” She saw her uncle’s hopeful face fall. “But Grey and I can find out where she is," she quickly added.
Michael couldn't form a sentence. He stared at Ariel for a few minutes before he shook his head. "I doubt that's a good idea."
"Why not?"
"I don't think it's good to know where she is. Jessie made it clear that she doesn't want me and had I wanted to find her, I could have done that, but I chose not to do so.”
"But what if she had her reasons behind leaving. Don't you want to find out?”
"I don't know, Ariel, but I want to avoid being heartbroken for the second time. If she were to reject me again, I don't think I will survive it." Michael's expressions were very painful. "Excuse me.” Michael stood up from the couch and left.
Ariel watched her uncle leave, and she felt awful for making him sad. She stood up from the couch and proceeded to look for her father. "Hey, Dad."
"What is it? You look worried," Raguel said.
"I messed up."
"What did you do?"
Ariel explained everything to her father.
"Ariel!" Raguel groaned.
"I know, Dad, I'm sorry."
"Where is he?"
"He went outside."
"I will go talk to him." Raguel attempted to stand, but Anna stopped him. She had been listening to their conversion.
"I will go talk with him." She left no room for Raguel to argue as she stood up and went ahead.

Michael was pacing around. He was trying his best not to tear up. 'She doesn't want me. I should always remember that.’"Hey, Michael." Anna pulled him out of his thoughts.
Michael turned around to see Anna standing by the door. "Hi, Anna. I'm fine if that's the reason you are here."
