Jessie was sitting on the bed with Michael, who had his arms wrapped around her. The event that took place earlier played in her head. She still couldn’t believe she was engaged to Michael and would soon be married to him. Everything felt like a dream to her.
"I wish my parents were still alive. They would have loved you."
"My parents would have loved you too." Michael placed a kiss on her forehead. He trailed kisses along her neck and was about to kiss her lips when the door to their bedroom opened.
"Sunshine?" Jessie whined a little. “What are you doing here?"
"I was sent to come to get you."
"Well, I'm busy right now. I will come downstairs when I'm done."
"No, you are coming with me now." Sunshine edged closer to the bed.
"Sunshine, get out of my room."
"I'm not leaving without you."
"What do you guys want from me anyway?"
"To plan the wedding, we need you. If you are simply going to sit here and stare at Michael, there will be no wedding. So, let's go now."
Jessie huffed and stood up from the mattress, looking at Michael. "I will be back as quickly as I can," she whispered and kissed him before she was dragged out of the bedroom.
"Here comes the bride," Elena announced as Jessie walked down the stairs.
Jessie shook her head and laughed.
"Come take a seat. So, what will your wedding look like?"
"I don't really know."
"Don't worry about the wedding. I have it covered. I'm so excited," Ariel squealed.
"We are all excited," Elena chipped in.
"I will be back." Ariel stood up and ran upstairs.
****Michael felt bored sitting all alone in the bedroom. He missed Jessie and wished to see her. He stood up from the bed and stared outside the window. "Everything is going well. I still can't believe I have a chance to be happy." He shook his head with a smile.
Michael gave up hope of Jessie returning soon and made his way out of the room. On his way, he saw Anna walking in the direction of the stairs. She stopped when she saw him and smiled at him.
"How are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm doing great."
"I can see that. Well, congratulations on the wedding."
"Thank you."
"I'm absolutely satisfied that you are happy."
"I have you to thank for all this; you told me not to give up. You encouraged me when I was feeling down. Thank you, Anna. I appreciate all the things you did for me."
"I'm glad I could help," Anna squeezed his shoulder a little before she headed downstairs.
Michael was about to walk down the stairs, but he was stopped by Ariel, who was coming upstairs.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Downstairs." Michael gestured.
"To do what exactly?"
"I want to see Jess."
"She is busy right now. Why don't you go talk with Dad?”
"I prefer not to talk to your father."
