Jessie knew she was losing the fight, and she struggled to gain the upper hand. One of the demons hit her hard, and she tasted her blood. She was slammed against the wall. The pain rippling across her chest was making it tough for her to breathe.

She was not willing to give up; she was determined to get herself and her sister out of their current situation. She kicked a demon who lunged at her. Upon gaining a little strength, she stood up, but her legs wobbled. She placed her hands on the wall to steady herself, scanning the demons. She groaned when she saw there were still too many in number.

"Give up, Jessie. You are injured, and you cannot overpower us."

"I will die trying," Jessie muttered as she looked at her sister, who was still crying.

One of the demons lunged at her and pinned her against the wall. Jessie struggled to get out of his hold, but she failed. She felt her life slipping away from her body. Glancing at her sister, tears streamed down her face. " I love you," she mouthed.

"No, Jessie," Sunshine screamed.

Immediately, the entire room was filled with light, and hope quickly filled Jessie's heart. The demon holding her got distracted by the light, which made his grip on Jessie loosen. She punched the demon hard, and he stumbled backward. The demon was about to retaliate, but Grey quickly knocked the demon out.

"They came," Jessie whispered. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she watched Raguel and Grey take charge of the situation.

Sunshine immediately ran to her sister after she was released by the demon who held her. Jessie sighed in relief when she came in contact with her sister.

"Jessie," Sunshine whispered as she hugged her tightly. Jessie's alarmed cry made Sunshine pull back immediately. "You are bleeding." Sunshine pointed at her bleeding side.

"I'm fine, Sunshine," Jessie reassured her crying sister. Even though she was in pain, she wanted to remain strong for her sister.

It didn't take long for Raguel to come to her side. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

"No, she isn't." Sunshine glared at her sister. "She's bleeding."

"It's looking terrible," Raguel said, examining Jessie’s side

Raguel held out his hand to Jessie, and she positioned her hand on his, standing up. Jessie looked over Raguel's shoulder and saw Grey standing by the door. She nodded her head curtly at him before she averted her eyes from him and proceeded to look around the house for a particular person.

"He is not here," Raguel said, which made Jessie look at him.

Jessie felt hurt. She had expected Michael to come, but perhaps she had expected too much. 'I'm so stupid. Why will he come? I hurt him bad.'

"You will have to come with us," Raguel said, snapping Jessie out of her thoughts.

"What!" Jessie exclaimed in shock. She didn't expect Raguel to say that. She was sure Michael would have told Raguel what she had said to him. The thought of being in the same house as Michael made her happy and sad at the same time. 'How will he react to me being in the same house as him? If he is not here right now, will he be able to stand being in the same house as me after what I said to him?'

Raguel saw the way Jessie was staring hard at the ground. "Don't stress over this issue, Jessie."

"I don't think it's a good idea." Jessie shook her head.  "What about Michael?" she whispered.

"Regardless of what happened between you and Michael, we are Angels, and we must protect those who are in need. I'm sure you don't want anything to happen to Sunshine. So, please reconsider your decision."

Jessie knew she would not be able to live with herself if something were to happen to her sister or if her sister were to be taken to the demon zone again. She took a deep breath. "Let's go."

Jessie tried to take a step forward, but a little scream escaped from her lips. She shut her eyes tightly as she felt excruciating pain on her side.

Raguel quickly put his arms around her. "Raphael will take a good look at your side when we get home."

"Home," Jessie whispered before she lost consciousness.

"Jessie!" Sunshine yelled as she moved closer to her sister.

"She is fine, Sunshine."

"Are you certain?" Sunshine studied her sister's face.

"I'm sure, Sunshine. Let's go home."

Sunshine nodded her head and allowed Grey to pick her up. Raguel flashed his wings and kept a firm hold on Jessie as they headed home.

Michael was pacing around the house. He felt very restless. "Where are they?"

"They will be here soon.” Elena rested her hand on his shoulder. "Have a seat while you wait for them.” She pulled Michael closer to the couch.

Michael sighed as he sat down. He closed his eyes but quickly snapped them open when he felt them.

"They are close," Elena said.

"Yes, they are."

Michael's heart beat very fast at the thought of seeing Jessie after a long time. He tried his level best to compose himself before so as not to jump on Jessie when they would arrive. 'She doesn't want me,' Michael reminded himself.

It didn't take long for Raguel and Grey to land in the living room.

Michael's eye immediately went to Jessie, who was unconscious in Raguel's arms. "What happened to her?" Michael moved closer to them.

"She was badly injured before we got there."

"Take her to her room. I will be there shortly," Raphael said.

Michael took Jessie from Raguel and took her to her bedroom.  He placed her gently on the mattress. His eyes scanned Jessie's body, and his heart ached at the marks he saw on her body. The door to the bedroom opened, and Raphael walked in. Michael watched as he examined Jessie.

"The wound on her side is deep. I won't be able to heal her side fully, but it won't take long for her to heal soon." Raphael placed his hands on Jessie, and all the other marks on her body began disappearing. Raphael stood up and placed a hand on Michael's shoulder. "She will be fine.” Raphael immediately left the room.

Michael wanted to stay a bit longer in Jessie's room, but he shook the idea out of his mind. He walked to the door and turned to look at Jessie one last time before he left the room.
