Sweet Mistake

Chapter 4

♤Ellie's POV♤

"The wedding will be starting soon," Adrian said that snatched my attention. I feel ashamed of myself. I need to avoid Liam but what I've done made his attention turn to me. From now on, I need to avoid him the best that I can. No eye contact and I will pretend that he doesn't exist. Okay, I can do it! I smiled at myself. Determination flowing in me.

The wedding started and I was at the side of the aisle together with the other bride's maid while waiting for Gabriela. Adrian was on the other side together with Liam. I was doing a good job in avoiding him. My Elian fell asleep earlier so it's a good thing that Liam will not see him.

The scene is surreal like a wedding of Bella and Edward in twilight. Everyone was excitedly waiting for the bride including the groom who looked very nervous. Finally, Gabriela came out the flower arch. I felt goose bumps all over me. She is so beautiful like a goddess descended from heaven. I can't help myself but to shed tears when I look at the two of them. Breece was looking at her with teary eyes while waiting for her. Gabriela was smiling while tears shimmered in her eyes. I wish I will experience that kind of love too.

I sobbed because of the joy I felt for Gabriela. Cindy one of the bride's maids and the cousin of Fitzgerald offered me a handkerchief. I gladly accepted it and blow my nose.

I sincerely prayed for the happiness of my best friend.

Gabriela and Fitzgerald exchanged their vows. It is so sweet and full of sincerity.

The ceremony ended and the party started. I congratulate the newly wed and embraced Gabriela tightly like a parent that is about to be separated to her child.

Speaking of the child, I checked Elian and he was sleeping in the guest room. He must be really tired of playing.I kissed his forehead before I head back to the party.

The food was amazing. I was sitting alone on the table while eating. Gabriela asked me if I was okay and I assured her that she doesn't need to be worried. Adrian was busy talking to his friends and I don't want to interrupt him just to sit with me. I would rather eat these delicious foods than talk to other people whom I do not know. They always talked about business and economy which I can't relate to. Beside, there is a saying that don't talk to strangers when your mouth is full.

"What will I eat next?" I smiled as I finished the tiramisu that I was eating.I went to the dessert table and chose the most delicious looking dessert.

Oh, I should save for my baby Elian too. I got two plates and got 2 pieces from each dessert.

"You're a sight for sore eyes,"someone said beside me. I was surprised to see that it was Liam.

I looked at him with my brows knitted. Is he insulting me?! Does he mean that I looked like a bacteria, virus or dusk that can give him sore eyes?

(A/N: A sight for sore eyes is an idioms that means that you are very pleased to see someone or that you think someone is very attractive. 😅)

"And you're a hairy caterpillar!" I said and left him with my plates full of desserts.

Tsk, yeah you're like a hairy caterpillar that gives me rashes.

I smiled in satisfaction in my answer. He looked so dumbfounded when I left him. If he thinks he can intimidate me, he better think it twice.

The host of the party excitedly announced the bouquet toss. He called all the single ladies and I really want to join. It is my first time attending a wedding like this and I want to enjoy it.

I stood up and excitedly lined up with the other girl. I will definitely catch it . The pretty girl beside me with a red dress gazed at me from head to toe and then rolled her eyes. She is pretty indeed but her attitude is like unrecyclable trash.
