Its was 6 am and you were wide awake in bed.

One arm laying across your eyes and the other holding your phone, you let out a sigh. Why did you tell your family you had a boyfriend?

And why of all days did they want to meet him today?

What made today so special?

You sat up and set your phone on one of your many pillows, standing up. If you couldn't sleep, you might as well go ahead and get up.

You went ahead and got dressed, picking out a long sleeved white sweater and some jeans. It was supposed to be chilly out today and you really didn't need to be sick right now.

Yawning, you brushed through your hair, pulling it back into a bun and then you started on your teeth.

By the time you were done it was 6:30. Why was time being so slow today? You wondered.

Loki was wondering the same thing as he was getting ready, not able to sleep that night. Once you had let meeting your family had slipped out, he had been all nerves. He was never nervous.

Maybe it was because meeting your family was a big step on midgard. Most normal families saw it as the step before marriage.

It's not that Loki didn't want to marry you, it was just the fear that you wouldn't want him after a few years. That you would toss him out as soon as he messed up or as soon as another Male passed your way.

He knew you loved him. Didn't he?

On your way across the tower, heading for the balcony, you ran into Bruce. He was always up early.  "Hey, what are you doing up kid?" He had asked in passing. All you could muster was a mere "couldn't sleep." As you continued on your way.

Once you reached the common area, you walked over to the large sliding doors, opening them and stepping onto the terrace. It was very windy and really cold. You should have brought a jacket.

Just after the thought entered your head, warm arms enveloped you into a hug, pulling you back slightly. "Good morning darling." Lokis voice was quiet, laced with sleepiness. To you It sounded kind of sexy, but you knew deep down that he was tired.

"Good morning to you too." You smiled slightly and tilted your head up, placing a kiss against his jaw. This caused the tired God to smile just a bit.

"What are you doing on the balcony?"

You sighed slightly. "Couldn't sleep at all last night. I'm worried about going to my family's. What about you? Why are you up early?"

Loki smirked slightly. "Asgardian royalty are always up early."

You looked at him, waiting for the real answer.

Loki gave a small chuckle. "I could not sleep. Just the same as you. I'm also worried about meeting your family."

Giving him a nod, he pulled you back inside gently, magic making the doors slide shut.

The warmth of the tower wrapped around you two, causing you both to shiver. "Well, they live pretty far. So what if we take one of Tony's private jets?" You asked.

Loki thought for a moment. "Stealing a jet now, hm?"

You elbowed his side. "Its not stealing. It's just using something that isn't mine for awhile and then returning it. Borrowing is the word. "

Loki laughed and let you go, taking your hand gently into his. "You midgardians are so mischievous sometimes." He pulled you down the hallway, heading back to your room.

"Why are we going to my room? Don't you want to go see my family?" You asked. You weren't complaining though.

"You look absolutely dreadful love. Like you haven't slept in days." Loki said, opening your bedroom door. It wasn't uncommon that Loki stayed in your room with you, but it was rare. He thought It improper since you've only been together for a few months.

You, however, were a clingy person and wanted to be near him all the time. And he knew that. Maybe he just needed time to adjust to being wanted by someone.

"But-" you started to say.

Loki put his hand over your mouth. "No buts. Get into bed." He crossed his arms, trying to look stern.

You rolled your eyes, tossing off your shoes as you crawled on top of the blankets.  "Why?" You yawned.

Loki raised an eyebrow. "Like I said, you're exhausted and I'm not meeting your family when you look like that."

Ouch. That shouldn't have hurt you the way it did.

A brief frown crossed your face before Loki realized what he said.

"I didn't mean that you look bad! I just don't want your family to think I've been keeping you up all hours of the night." He gave you a small smile and a wink.

You nodded, laying on one of your pillows. "Okay...that's better I guess." You mumbled.

Loki frowned and walked over to your bed. "I promise that we can see your family tomorrow.  But you do need sleep love. What can I do to make it up to you?" He asked. He wouldn't beg. Not yet anyways.

You stared at him for a moment, silence filling the air as you gave it some thought. There were some things you would want, but most of those things required staying up the rest of the day, but nonetheless locked in your room.

So you decided on a more tame option. "Cuddles?" You asked softly.

Loki laughed lightly and moved into the bed with you, wrapping his arms around you gently as you layed on his chest.

"We can go visit family tomorrow...I'm tired all of the sudden." You yawned.

Loki stayed silent, but he started humming quietly for you until you lost conciousness.

He kept humming after that, letting the hums and your small snores fill the air.

He looked at you a few times and figured that he could get used to this. And that he would meet your family if that is what you wished.
