*Note from author* I would just like to let everyone know that this fanfic is meant to have realistic struggles young adults go through nowadays, I made almost all of the characters in my fan-fiction easy for my readers to relate to. It's highly emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to read for some. So if you're easily triggered by the topics up above.. READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. Various parts in this story are inspired/referenced by the TV show Euphoria, which is why some dialogue may seem familiar at some points.
Also, this story has a thick plot, packed with foreshadowing, plot twists, background knowledge and etc. It is centered around romance of course but this IS a slow-burn, the characters build a bond before any sexual tension, and I value emotional connection rather than physical. But don't get me wrong, there is smut in this fanfic, a lot of it. You just have to be patient and get to know the characters first :)
Another thing, I have made descriptions of the outfits Y/n wears throughout the story, but feel free to switch it up, it's fictional after all and you can adjust her wardrobe to whatever you'd like and feel comfortable with.
Adding on to that, there is a lot of drama in this fic... the towns reputation separates the characters, and basically nobody gets along in the beginning of the story. You may not find all of the characters enjoyable but I did that on purpose, they are going to make decisions and say things that you might not like, but thats what makes the characters realistic. Let's be real, we don't always make the right choices, and it's normal to make humanly mistakes. So, feel free to slander them (y/n included) but also keep in mind that there will be character development for most.
Speaking of which, there is a reasonable explanation for the way characters act, and speak. All the relevant characters have a background story which goes into depth about their trauma, and why it benefits the story line. I switch POV's very often because I like to give my readers an insider on these supporting characters perspectives. This way my readers can understand why these "villains" think and feel the way they do. Feel free to support any character, whether they are perceived as evil or not, and most of all. This story is somewhat a love triangle, so choose a side. Jean or Connie, and choose it wisely...
Lastly, please don't hate on the ending of this story. I tried my best to make it enjoyable for both Jean and Connie fans, however I know I cannot please everyone so just take that into consideration. This is my first time writing a fanfic so bare with me !
