Katie roamed the halls of her school. Summer break had just ended, and her neck had healed all the same. All that was left was a scar that she was constantly asked about.

"Where'd you get that scar?"

"What happened to you?"

"Does it hurt?"

She rarely, if at all, answered, usually responding with 'It's personal.' Only her friends knew what really happened.

---

Katie woke up beside Jade, letting out a groan of pain.

Well, she guessed the scar hurt just a little...

"Is it hurting again, babe?"

Jade looked over to a very tired Katie, phone in Jade's hand. "Yeah. It's fine though, I'll just take a Tylenol." Katie said, rubbing at the side of her neck.

"Well, we don't have a lot of classes today, our first class doesn't start until 10." Jade said, putting her phone down and tapping the side of Katie's bed gently.

Katie understood the assignment and smiled tiredly, getting back into bed.

She took off her glasses and put them back beside the bedside table. She turned over to Jade and wrapped her arm around Jade.

Jade did the same.

They cuddled in a peaceful silence, sun beaming on their faces, the only sound being their racing heartbeats.

Suddenly, the silence was soon broken.

"Were you...scared?" Katie asked.

"Of what?" Jade answered.

"When I was evil."

Jade thought for a second.

"Well, of course I was, You were practically Pal's puppet!" Jade said.

"Why do you think she did that to me?" Katie asked again, feeling the tears well up in her eyes.

"I don't know. Maybe she wanted to get revenge or-" Jade felt a drop of water stream down her arm. She turned over to Katie.

Katie eyes were filled with tears, the tears streaming down her eyes.

Jade sat up, bringing Katie up with her. "Hey, it's okay. We can stop talking about this if you want!" Jade reassured her, wiping the tears from Katie's cheek.

Katie looked away from her.

"Do you- Do you think it was MY fault?"

Jade's eyes widened. She put her hands on Katie's shoulders.

"It was NEVER your fault."

Jade gave her a tight hug.

Katie hugged her back, finally letting out all of her built-up emotions. She sobbed, the tears pouring out of her eyes like waterfalls.

Jade cried all the same with her, the two lover's tears falling and soaking into the bed sheets.

---

They finally let go of each other, wiping tears from their eyes.

"Wherever Pal is now, let's hope she's dead in a ditch somewhere." Jade said.

"Yeah, let's hope." Katie responded, smiling.

They both caressed each others cheeks, going in for a full-hearted kiss after.
