For the third time in a row, Bianca woke up sweating, though not from any fever or infection. The heat of her sweater with long pants, two blankets, and a sleeping full grown man on top of her had pushed her temperature to rise.
As she started to squirm, Draco let out a low groan and wrapped his arms tighter around her.
"No." He said, pushing his head deeper into her chest.
"I'm too hot, love." She smiled sleepily.
"Yeah you are." Bianca felt her husband smile into her chest. She let out a small laugh.
"I need to pee. Get off of me." She said as she pressed a kiss to his head. He reluctantly rolled off and Bianca got up to relieve herself.
Draco moved into the indent in the mattress left from Bianca's body. When she returned, her husband had fallen asleep again and Bianca had to move into his usual spot where the satin sheets were cold against her legs.
She moved closer to him, bringing one arm over the waist of her husband, and he finally turned over to face her. His sleepy face smiled at her, and he brought his warm hand, for once it wasn't cold, to her stomach.
"Good morning," he rasped. Bianca moved her hand to support her head and smiled back at her husband.
"Hi, what are you doing today?" She asked, hoping he wouldn't be home. She was all for listening to your physician, just not when hers forbade her from leaving her bed for a whole two weeks.
"I am going to be making sure you stay in your bed, and perhaps making arrangements for us to stay at the cottage for two weeks." Bianca huffed, and rolled onto her back.
"We better move the library to our bedroom, because you'll finally get to catch up on the reading you've been putting aside for months," Draco laughed. He moved his hand from where it was tracing circles on the raised bump of Bianca's stomach to stroke a piece of hair that had fallen into her eyes.
Bianca sighed and closed her eyes, the small smile falling from her face.
"Hey, I know you don't want this. But it's my responsibility to take care of you, especially if you can't, and this is what is best for you. I really don't want to go 50s husband on you, so please don't argue with me on this." He placed his hand on her cheek and guided her to look at him.
"Forgive me, please. I'm not trying to be pushy, I'm just worried that you'll push your body to its limit if you don't take time to rest every once in a while," he muttered as Bianca's gaze avoided his eyes.
"Understand me on this please," he pleaded. She gave a small nod and Draco's gaze softened. His hand caught hers and he brought her soft skin to meet his lips.
Staying home that day was nearly unbearable to Bianca. Her husband coddled her and she felt bored out of her mind. Nothing to do but to nap or shoot little sparks out of her wand. She had a stack of books next to her on her bedside table, but whenever she picked up the leather bound pages the words seemed to slip out of her mind and she found herself unable to focus.
The remainder of the two weeks went by faster, considering Draco had gone back to work the next day and brought home work for Bianca to do while confined to her bed.
Her days consisted of waking up early, taking a bath while drinking tea, changing into one of her endless pajama sets and then being served breakfast by one of the many house elves. She would then work for a few hours, busying herself with filling out piles of paperwork she had set aside due to lack of time and motivation. During the midday, either her mother or Narcissa, sometimes both, would join her for lunch then it would be back to work until Draco would return from work. Then he would carry her to any of the places in their vast home she wanted to visit.
He would sweep her into his strong arms and carry her through the halls to places like the library, one of the balconies overlooking the beginnings of summer in the woods surrounding the castle, or the greenhouse. Once he even set up blakets and pillows in the middle of the ballroom and they would look up at the tall ceiling which Draco had somehow enchanted to look like the ceiling in the Great Hall at Hogwarts.
Soon enough, the bed rest sentance was coming to an end.
