"Some things have to end for better things to begin."
Sarah was lying in her bed. It's past 1:00 AM already but her eyes refused to close and sleep. Her mind went back to what happened earlier...
The elevator door opened at iniluwa noon ang mga taong ayaw makita ni Sarah. Mapagbiro talaga ang pagkakataon. Standing in front of them were the men who happened to share a painful history with her. Rayver Cruz, Gerald Anderson, and Mateo Guidecilli. Are they in a tag team against her now? The whole ride was eerily quiet. Kahit siguro may mahulog na isang karayom ay maririnig ng lahat. It's the kind of silence you hear in a horror movie.
Bamboo and Sarah were at the back of the elevator. In front of them were Rayver, Gerald, and Mateo. The elevator door opened was again. This time three foreigners went inside and said good evening. She thanked her lucky star that the foreigners didn't know them or else it's gonna be a big story to witness. Yet by the presence of the three, the elevator is crowded. The three men have no choice but to step backward and give space. The position looked like this from left to right. Mateo, Gerald, Rayver, Sarah, and Bamboo.
Bamboo didn't like the situation they were in. He can sense that Sarah is feeling so uneasy with the situation so he made a calculated move. He doesn't care if it caught the attention of the three. He put his arms around Sarah's waist and changed their position. Sarah is now standing next to the wall of the elevator and he is beside Rayver. He let go of her waist only to change it with his other hand. Gumalaw si Sarah to adjust her position para di to maipit sa ding ding. What surprised Bamboo is that Sarah put her arms around his waist and whispered, "Sorry coach, di kasi ako makahinga kaya ginawa ko 'to" She explained. "Whatever make you feel comfortable. You sure you're okay? We can go out from here if you want."
She was in the most awkward place and situation but instead of being nervous and afraid she felt secure and safe in Bamboo's arms. She doesn't care what the three men would say after seeing the two of them together in the elevator. The whole world could talk about it tomorrow but it doesn't faze her.
"This is awkward." She whispered to Bamboo.
"What's awkward? Our position?" Bamboo asked her.
"No. The situation. Heheh." She even have the time to laugh despite the atmosphere of the place.
Bamboo couldn't help himself but chuckled. He was expecting her to be nervous and anxious because of the predicament they were in for the moment but she was giddy and making fun out of it. He whispered to her ear. "Elevators and it's history." Sarah giggled with what he said.
From anyone's perspective, the two of them were hugging each other. At iyon ang nakikita ng tatlong kasama nila sa elevator. Anger and jealousy were very visible in their eyes.
Sarah and Bamboo stayed like that until the elevator opened to the ground floor. The three foreigners went out first.
Mateo attempted to talk to Sarah but Bamboo was fast enough to take Sarah out of the elevator and sternly said to Mateo."Piece of advice, back off." His voice full of conviction.
He was holding her hand and she in his arms. They were walking so fast as if a hoard of zombies were chasing them. They only stopped when they arrived at the parking lot.
"Are you okay?"He asked.
"Thank you, Bamboo for what you did kanina. Kung wala ka siguro lumabas na ko ng elevator at dumaan nalang sa hagdan. Hehe. And to answer your question I am fine. Thanks to you."
"I'm glad to be of help. Where's your car?"
"Oh! It must be somewhere here." They proceeded to look for her driver and car in the parking space.
