The Fear Chair

Scarlet's POV

We all wait in a small room before a simulation room. Amar told us that the fear simulation works just like the aptitude test. It's interactive but brings out your worst fears. He said today we didn't have to do anything interactive but just to learn what our fears are. Most people have lots of fears so we were sitting for hours before we started picking up pace. 

When I went I learned a lot about myself. My first fear started with the choosing ceremony, I choose Dauntless and the room went quiet. My parents stood up and started yelling at me. After some choice words it changed. I was in a field, my parents and some other Abnegation leaders were tied up about six feet away. Erudite leaders and Dauntless leader stood next to me. A man hands me a gun and J- speaks. 

"Kill your parents" she says along with crimes she assumes they have made. Soon enough it changes again. I am on a date with a faceless guy and he walks over to me, takes my hand and ushers me to his bedroom. I get pushed to the bed and all my clothes are off as soon as he moves on top of me it changes again. I am thrown out of a door with a bag and am told to go to factionless head quarters. Which is really nowhere. It forwards to me begging for food in mix matched clothes. Having to see my parents watch me in disgust. It then changes again. Me and Toby are hangin in his old room. We were talking about something unimportant when I heard the door slam. Then the stairs creak heavily. Tobias gets really nervous. Marcus throws open the door, not noticing me he starts beating him over and over. I scream at him to stop but he doesn't notice me or stop. After awhile he just ups and leaves. Toby lays there,  still. I check his pulse. He's dead. As I start to cry it changes again.  It seems like the same fear. But instead of Toby getting beaten, It was me. Marcus was yelling about how I was tattling on him and everyone knew he hurt his son. After I was unconscious it changed again. This time it was my Aptitude test and the Leaders were watching. 

After I woke up in the chair. Amar didn't say anything about any of my fears. 

"Well that was eight fears in total" he says typing on the computer. Still calming down I say,

"But I counted seven" I say. 

"The date was a double fear" he says. "your free to go" He adds. I start to leave. "Hey, Scar,If you don't want to get found out, Learn some tricks and know your allies" He says before I leave. "Send in the other stiff" He adds. I exit still shaking. "Your next Stiff" I say to Tobias. I sit down waiting on the rest of the group to go. Tobias gets out quicker than anybody. 

When he comes out he is pale. Pale like when his father comes home. No doubt he was in his fears. After Toby's turn we were dismissed to changed and get to the dinning hall. They left us to find it. 

We sit down with some of the people we recognized from initiation and start to eat. Across from me is Zeke. "your Scar, right?" he asks me.

"Yeah?" 

"You  tap you foot when your in deep thought, you know that right?"

"Huh, well I could be nervous and stare off." I say back.

" You don't strike me as the nervous type" he says with a half smile that makes me wanna melt. 

"So, I tap my foot when I think" 

"Yeah like Thumper, ehhh thats it, I'll call ya Thumpers" he chuckles.

"He does this, gives everyone nicknames" says the guy next to him. Can't remember his name. 

"Ok, so I'm Thumper, no biggie, but Zeke is pretty boring"

"Well I guess you gotta figure it out.." he says and smiles that cute ass smile again.
