The wind, the sand, the water, you loved absolutely everything about the beach! What was there to not love? The beach provided a nice place to relax, play, and spend time with those close to you. However, the person closest to you didn't seem to share your enthusiasm.

Felix had been grumpy ever since you had arrived. He refused to budge from the shade of your shared beach umbrella, regardless of how much you begged and pleaded with him to come play in the water. He just continued to sit there, face scrunched up in discontent, his sour mood being a sharp contrast to his floral patterned shirt and bathing suit.

"I'm going to burn alive," he grumbled and shot a glare in your direction as he adjusted his sunglasses on his face. Like always, Felix wasn't being much of an optimist.

You snorted and lifted a hand to your mouth to try and hide your laughter, earning you and even more spiteful glare from your partner. "You aren't going to burn, Felix. You've put on enough sunscreen to last you multiple days." You shifted to lean against his shoulder and felt as he relaxed at your touch.

Felix just shook his head and averted his gaze to the water. His eyes scanned the rolling waves. All of the attention that had been on you was suddenly lost in favor of watching a stick bob up and down on the sea. Oh how wonderful it was to be less interesting than a stick.

You shifted closer to him with an irritated puff of air to try and get his attention. It didn't work. Was he purposefully ignoring you? Honestly it was hard to tell with him.

Felix jolted and looked down at you dubiously after feeling a few soft kisses pressed to his jaw. "Felix. You won't turn into bacon." His brow creased. "Promise."

He still didn't seem very convinced, but he did manage to force a smile onto his face so that was an improvement, regardless of how small it was. Felix shifted slightly so he was sitting with his legs crossed and could slouch forward with his arms resting against his thighs. "I just... don't like swimming, okay?" His lips twitched and his eyes flicked away to a seagull walking across the sand. "Not really my thing."

You loudly whined out his name in complaint, causing him to raise an eyebrow at your behavior. "Come onnnnnn!" Felix grunted and leaned closer to you from the added weight as you threw your arms around his shoulders dramatically. "Pleaaaaase? Just for a little while?" Regardless of how hard he proceeded to roll his eyes, you could tell he was starting to crack. It was apparent in the way he was avoiding looking at you. You both knew it would be all over for him if he saw that little pout you always got when you wanted something. How could anyone refuse a face that was that cute??

Felix let out an exasperated sigh and lifted his sunglasses enough to rub at his eyes with his free hand. "Fine," he grumbled out. For as grumpy as he was trying to be, you thought you could see a hint of a smile on his lips as you triumphantly threw up your arms into the air.

It wasn't long before you were scampering off towards the water with more energy than you should've had and a tired-looking Felix lumbering along after you. You plowed right into the chilly water without a second thought and turned to watch Felix hesitate at the edge of the dry sand. He shifted from foot to foot as the sand burned his soles, before finally giving in and following you into the water. His body instantly stiffened. Immediate regret showed clear as day on his face. "Wow, fun, I'm in... can we go home now?" The icy waves lapped at his ankles.

You shook your head with an amused snort. "No no no, come here you big oaf." You approached him slowly with your hands held out for him to take, almost afraid that he would turn and run if you moved too quickly. His hands were so large and rough and his fingers held callouses where his pen would rest against them from years of work and writing. Yet, they felt so gentle as he placed them in yours. Gentle from his nervousness.

You started to coax him deeper into the water. It took a while, but eventually the waves brushed at your stomachs and Felix clung to your side, desperately trying to steal any bit of warmth from you. He still wasn't very thrilled. But he had you, and you were happy, and that made it tolerable.

You tried to hold in your laughter so as not to disturb Felix, who was lying comfortably with you on your shared living room couch, ear pressed to your chest to listen to your heartbeat. You had both already washed up from the beach, but he was still very distraught over the fact that he had found sand absolutely everywhere once returning home. It was cute how heated he was getting over it. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry-," you snorted softly at a weak glare he shot at you. "We can stay in for our next date, how does that sound? Maybe rent some movies?"

Felix hummed in approval at that and nothing more.

He stilled as you plucked the glasses from his face, folded them neatly, and set them off to the side. Once the obstacle was out of the way, you cupped his face in your hands and gave him a sloppy kiss between the eyes, much to his annoyance.

"Are there any movies you'd want to watch?" Felix only shrugged in response so you continued with your kisses, these ones going on his cheeks and forehead instead. He seemed to get the message after that.

"There's one that came out recently that I wouldn't mind seein'," he grumbled as he lifted a hand to wipe at his face. Felix never had been a fan of the big messy kisses. However, the ones you now proceeded to give him were his favorite by far. Little butterfly kisses all over his nose and cheeks. His face scrunched and a smile pulled at his lips. They reminded him of you. A nuisance, that was for sure, but loved more than anything.
