The police was here and everything. Honestly, I can still feel Jackson's grip on my arms. What was he going to do if Dennis hadn't turn up here? Well, atleast now we have our answers.
"You good?" Dennis ask. I wash my face off nodding my head.
"Thank you for helping me," I say and turn to him. He's only wearing his white blouse since I still have his shirt on. "I don't want to know what would've happened if you didn't."
"Don't think too much about it," he smiles and take my hair out of my face. I raise an eyebrow and scan his face. "You know, seeing you fight in the courtroom inspired me a lot. I'd attend court cases just to watch you."
"I never thought I'd have that great impact on someone," I chuckle and lean against the zink. "Dennis, I'm going to be honest to you. I'm not over Don at all. I still think about going back to him or imagining him knocking on my door or something. I like our friendship and what you did for me, but I really can't look at you as something more than a friend."
"I see," he nods and touch my cheek softly. "Thank you for the honesty, Meryl. I really hope your heart heals and that you'll find happiness."
I nod my head slowly and look down. Dennis stands closer to me and kisses my forehead.
"I'll see you around," he says and walk out. My heart starts to break all over again. Well, this had to end, that's for sure. I can't lie to Dennis. Honesty is all that matters to me now.

I quietly in bed and listen to the empty streets outside. Everything I use to know is gone with it. I give a fright when I heard a knocking on the door. It repeats three times. I get out of bed and run down. I pull the door open looking straight into Don. He's holding the baby in his arms carrying a bag on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I had nowhere to go," Don says. I step out of the way. He enters the house and look around. I close the door and look at him. "I need help. I can't do this alone."
"I thought you two are engaged," I mutter and fold my arms.
"For the last time, we were never engaged. She's engaged to somebody else. What's it with you and the kids stalking her profile?" Don says annoyed and look at the baby that began crying. My heart pushes me to grab the baby from him, which I unintentionally did.
"Okay," I comfort the child and hold it against my chest. "It's hungry."
"Here," he says and take the bottle out of the bag. I grab it and take a seat giving it to the baby. It gets quiet. Only now I get the chance to see the beautiful little face. It looks just like Don. Don always made oyr children's bottles so I trust what he gave me.
"Why wouldn't a mother want such a beautiful baby?" I ask softly and look up at Don. He shrugs his shoulders and smile at me. "I really need better training. Being a mother is fucking hard."
"Oh boy," I laugh softly and look down at the baby. "You're probably tired. I haven't got a spare room, but the living room is very comfortable. Little one can sleep by me. Take the night off, okay?"
"What about you?" he ask worried. "Don't you have work in the morning?"
"No," I shake my head recalling what happened. "I quit. I'm considering doing something different."
"Okay," he nods impressed.
"Follow me," I say to him and start walking down the hallway. Don follows me into my bedroom. "You can put the bag down on the table."
He puts it on the table and follow me to the bed to help me. I move the extra pillows right and lay the baby down on its side and lay the bottle against the pillow to stay in it's mouth.
"Thank you," Don says. I look at him and raise an eyebrow. "And I'm sorry for freaking out that night. I know it won't reverse the divorce or anything, but I'm sorry. I didn't make things easy for you."
"I'm sorry too, Don," I whisper and touch his arm. He just stares at me. I smile and walk past him out of the room.
