"—And finally, what we have all been waiting for…"
Loud cheers boomed at the whole open area of Kwangya Academy as soon as they heard what the host said.
"It's Winter and Mark, right? They haven't performed yet." Ningning asked, slightly raising her voice due to the loud cheers of the students.
"Yeah, they're the last one!" Yeji is raising her voice too.
"They are cheering so loud!" Giselle exclaimed while cupping her ears. "I can't even hear myself!"
"Lots of artists performed, and yet no one cheered as loud as this." Ten spoke.
"They are the main event!" Lucas cheered.
Karina couldn't help but to grin when she heard what her friends were saying. They're a part of the crowd, standing in front of the stage because, well, 'Friends privilege.'
She's proud of what she's hearing. She's proud of all the loud cheers and the students who are obviously here for her baby.
She's proud of Winter.
Never in her life did she think that she'd be standing in the sea of crowd, smiling and waiting for the charming singer—who she also never thought she would like.
Karina never expected the things that she has right now.
Or who she has right now.
But then again, just like she always say,
"—Let us all welcome, Mark Lee and Winter Kim!"
She doesn't mind.
As long as it's Winter, then she won't mind.
Winter and Mark walked up to the stage. The singer stood in front of the mic stand, while the guitarist sat on the stool chair beside Winter, also having a mic stand in front of him.
"Good evening, everyone!" They both greeted in chorus.
The cheers went even louder. Minju had to punch Ryujin's shoulder because the latter was literally screaming in her ear.
"We would like to start this performance with this song…"
Winter began to describe the first song they're planning to perform and Karina…Karina is just watching her with a soft smile.
After Winter's short speech, Mark started to strum the guitar. Winter held the mic stand with her one hand and the other was placed on the mic.
Wake up alone
In the morning, with no one at my sideKarina's eyes widened as soon as she heard the intro.
She recognized the song.
"I listen to this song whenever I go on a night drive." Winter said to Karina after she put one of her airpods on the taller girl's ear.
Could it be
I've waited too long, waiting for the lucky oneThey are at the side of the road bridge, leaning on the singer's motorcycle, staring at the sea below them.
"The song is good," Karina muttered while subtly nodding, vibing with the song. "Does it have a meaning to you?"
My sweetheart, where are you?
"Not really that deep, but yes." Winter chuckled. "If you listen to the lyrics, it's about a lonely person who's waiting for their future lover to come, wanting to spend time with them."
