A training session had taken place the next day. Valerie was displaying a very powerful Moonblast that she had spent weeks learning. Three Xerneas fawns watched in excitement.
"Wow! Teach me how to use Moonblast, Valerie!"
"No! She was gonna teach me first!"
"No, me!"
The three bickered with each other as Valerie rolled her eyes playfully and smiled. She enjoyed how enthusiastic they were about learning new moves and attacks.
"That Moonblast was so powerful, it could blow an Yveltal away across the entire Kalos region!" One of them squealed. This comment caught Valerie's attention and she thought about what her mother had said yesterday. She then turned to the fawns.
"Do you really think they're as bad as they're made out to be?" She asked the three fawns.
"I mean, they're just Pokémon like us."The three fawns looked at each other with puzzled expressions and wide eyes, contemplating the answer to this question. One of them looked back at Valerie and shrugged.
"We just go off of what Zoe taught us." They said to Valerie.
She sighed.
"If only I could talk to an Yveltal... I'd be able to hear their side of it..." she mumbled, loud enough for the younger fawns to hear."But Zoe said they're mean and vicious and soulless husks! She said they'd rip your flesh to pieces with their beaks and hold you down with their talons! They'd never let you speak!" The third fawn exaggerated, staggering over and falling over like a wounded Pokémon.
"That's... a little overboard..." Valerie said as she watched the act, lifting her leg up to avoid the young Xerneas' head that landed near her.
"But that's what we were told." The oldest Xerneas fawn replied.
"It may be exaggerated, or it might not be.""Not you too, Flint!" Valerie sighed.
Flint was the oldest of the three fawns and was one of Valerie's closer friends. He admires her strength and courage to speak up, and often just speaks what's on his mind. However, he felt like he had just put their friendship in jeopardy with his response.
"Wait- Valerie-" he tried to explain himself, but was quickly cut off.
"You can't just believe everything that you're told!" She said in a bit of an aggressive tone.
"I'm going!" She turned around and took off running. Flint tried to stop her but with no luck. He sighed.
"I really did it this time..."

Ren trudged through the forest with a much younger Yveltal on his back, exploring their forest territory. The hatchling Yveltal was Ren's younger brother, a regular Yveltal with red feathers that were more orange. He had helped them pick out the name Toshi for him, and he loved him very much.
Toshi was still mostly fur, so it tickled Ren's back a little as they wandered.
He looked around and sighed a breath of fresh air calmly.
"Isn't the forest beautiful, Toshi?" He asked the younger. Toshi nodded excitedly and squeaked. He was obviously entranced as he stared up towards the sky with big, wide eyes. Ren chuckled. He then thought of just the question to ask his younger brother as well.
"Hey Toshi, have you ever heard of the Pokémon, Xerneas?" He asked, looking behind him so he could see Toshi.
He shook his head and cocked his head to the side in confusion. This gave Ren the green light to go ahead and explain.
"Well, they're beautiful deer Pokémon, and legendary, just like us! I saw one once... I wish I could talk to one... but they're at war with us. They wouldn't let a scrap like me talk anyways." His voice trailed off, which worried Toshi. He started rubbing against Ren lovingly, showing that he was there for his older brother. Ren smiled a bit.
