🍁Part 47: Year 1621-3🍁

Year 1621:-

"Hyung. But I can do some little work. It's not like I'm completely incapable of it!", Jimin whined for the nth time to Kai who wasn't giving him a glance and kept ignoring him.

"Yeah Kai, I think we should at least give him some work. It's not like we're gonna tell him to rob the houses. But he atleast can bring the food.", Yugyeom suggested. And then Kai gave him a look. Look of clear disapproval.

"And I have said this so many times already. No. Jimin will not do any sort of work. He will stay here and look out over our place while we're out. That's enough work for him.", Kai said stubbornly before hanging his satchel over his shoulder for going out.

Yugyeom was not very pleased with this. Kai was being unfair. He has known him for so many years. Ever since they were children, they were doing every work half and half. Even though Yugyeom was quite underweight back then, Kai never took pity on him. So what changed now? What does this Jimin make any difference? Not like he didn't understand that Jimin was little too young for this. But still he wasn't even that young considering the age they themselves started to survive on their own. Kai was just being too easy on Jimin.

"Kai now it's enough. Not like I don't understand that he is young. But I'm not saying that he should do some stealing that cause him trouble. He atleast can arrangements of our food. So why not give him that responsibility if he's gonna stay with us? We split our works equally. So that rule should be applied on him too. He's no different.", Yugyeom stated in firm voice which made Kai to turn around sporting a frown on his handsome face.

He eyed Jimin at first who seemed to have lowered his head in shame for no apparent reason. Maybe he felt bad that he was the cause of this argument. Kai stood in front of Yugyeom who was a tad bit shorter than him. But it didn't faze his posture no matter how intimidating Kai looked with his serious gaze.

"Yugyeom, how many times would I have to discuss this? I told once that Jimin will not do any such work. Is it that hard to understand?", Kai said in his deep voice which made Jimin to shiver. But Yugyeom still held his head high looking furiously at Kai.

"But why?", He yelled at last making Jimin flinch.

"Because for once I feel like I have a family. Like I have someone I want to protect and cherish!! I will never allow something that will make him fall into any trouble!!", Kai shouted back. Yugyeom's eyes widen. It was clear that he wanted to cry, but years of practice of hardening your feelings didn't allow him to.

"Oh? So what am I then to you? Just a mere partner in crimes? I was with you ever since we were left alone to survive in this unfair world. Just because I never let my vulnerability get over me because I didn't want to burden you, you never seen me as your family? Or just as friend?", He blamed. Still not letting his voice waver even though he was hurting thinking that his best friend since forever never seen him as his loved one at all.

"It's not like that Yugyeom. You're taking it all wrong. You will always be the one who always stood with me, for me. My best bud.  You just have to understand. You & Jimin are very different. But you both mean to me so much, equally.", Kai tried making his point to the angry male.

"It doesn't look like it, Kai. Might end our partnership early as well before we throw our hands at each other.", Yugyeom spat sarcastically.

"You need to calm the hell down. And don't talk to me before get your things together.", Kai finally spat irritated as headed away with hot head. Looking at him Yugyeom frustratingly rab his hand through his dark hair. He also stood up to leave.

Jimin who was just sitting silent throughout their argument was really scared. He was feeling bad for causing such trouble for both of them. He just wanted to be happy and live with them forever. Why can't he be happy for once in his life.

"I'm going out to see if I get something worthy to steal. Afterall we must feed you for free, no?", He snapped his head up when Yugyeom spoke up sarcastically before heading outside of their little shelter of a house.

Jimin just stood there. 'No.', he thought. He never will be the cause of their argument or breaking of their friendship.

He stood up with determined face. He doesn't want them to end their years of friendship. So he's gonna do what he thinks is right.

He's gonna leave.

In just few moments he gathered his things which wasn't much. Just few clothes and things Kai had given him. He stuffed the things in a cloth and tied a knot to it so that he can hang it like a side bag.

He knew that neither Kai or Yugyeom gonna be there until the late moon. So there was no one who would stop him.

He was just walking down the market which led to the Entrance of the city. But he was going towards the opposite gates which may have less guards.

He never had done much mischiefs but he at least knew the map of this city because of Kai and Yugyeom's daily discussions. So he knew once he is out of the gates, he will lead towards the southern forest which doesn't have many wild animals. So he was safe for now with his initial plan.

But it didn't remain the same when reached near the gates.

He could feel his legs suddenly frozen.

An unknown fear crippled on his spine as he watched the familiar... Very familiar figures in front of him. Even though they didn't notice him yet, Jimin had his eyes fixed on them. Too zoned out to make any movement...

That was until one of them caught a sight of Jimin and he didn't see anywhere else after that. Not like he recognised him, but it was too hard to notice a person who is standing frozen in bustling market. Nonetheless he was staring at you too. So with a curious gaze he eyed Jimin's movements which he wasn't even moving his single muscle. And that was enough to catch the attention of the tall, slightly tan male in his Royal guard's uniform.

Jimin came out of his daze when he realised, he has caught 'his' attention. And with him, the 'other' one's too...

Too bad.

His feet automatically stepped back to disappear from their sight even though he knew it was a lost cause.

But then when two of the males' curiousity peeked even more when Jimin stepped back with fear and uncertainty in his eyes, he became even more frantic.

And he moved even swiftly to run back, which was enough to make them suspicious. And with a loud growl, past Prince of Kims clan in 1521 yelled in his usual deep voice....

"HALT RIGHT THERE!!!"
