Once Pale-Kit was certain everyone was asleep, he quietly stood up and stepped outside of the nursery. He hesitated a moment, wondering if he should really do what he was doing, but he managed to reassure himself that he'd be fine. That he needed to get over himself if he wanted to be a warrior of the clan. So, step after step, he slowly reached the entrance of the camp. Feeling confident that all his life, he must have been exaggerating, or rather after forcing himself to think that, he stepped outside of the camp. It wouldn't be long before he came across a small group of mice. He assumed it would be easy, but when he pounced, he found that none of the mice even flinched. In fact, it seemed he had just phased through them. He couldn't smell them either, and their footsteps didn't make sounds.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Wh…what..?” He muttered, as he tried to swipe at them again, this time one seemed to look at him, but ignored him. What was going on? And that was when he heard what sounded like pawsteps. Uh oh, that wouldn't be good. The night patrol was coming back. What if they saw him? Without giving much thought, he began running, but the pawsteps didn't stop. And when he turned to face his consequences, he found that the pawsteps weren't from a cat. A very small fox, not much larger than himself, had chased him here, and he was too frightened to speak or cry out. He had heard of foxes and this was exactly as they were described... But surely it was too small? Was it a kit? But then the mother would be nearby too. Adrenaline pushed him to resume his running, but the pawsteps just kept following, finally, she shut his eyes tight, not wanting to see how close the creature was until suddenly he felt himself fling onto the ground. Reluctantly, opening his eyes, he saw that he had tripped on a root. And now this small fox looked frightened, and the sounds of it's pawsteps ceased as it just seemed to disappear from sight. He didn't know what frightened it, but his adrenaline rush had ended, and he collapsed onto the ground, not even giving himself a chance to look behind himself.

...

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He felt himself get shoved, and without opening his eyes, he drowsily muttered, “Not now, Thrush-Kit. I'm too tired.” And then groaned.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Who's Thrush-Kit? I'm Blue!” The individual exclaimed, and he opened his eyes and suddenly didn't feel so tired anymore as panic set in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Where am I!? Where's my home!?” Pale-Kit cried out.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Your in my home. Are you a wild cat? You're so small. You're the same size as me!” Blue mewed cheerfully.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“I got to get home! This isn't my home!” Pale-Kit pouted, sitting back down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Do you really have to go? I've been so lonely ever since my housefolk gave away my brothers to other housefolk.” Blue pleaded.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“I'm no kittypet! I'm a warrior! A SkyClan warrior!” Pale-Kit stood up and ran to a window, only to hit his head because he couldn't walk through it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“No. You're a kitten like me.” Blue retorted.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Well I'm going to be a warrior! You could be one too if you weren't a kittypet!” Pale-Kit retorted back.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Really!? Can you take me with you then!?” Blue exclaimed, then ran over to a flap in the twoleg den and pushed herself through it. Pale-Kit followed, and found that it lead back outside.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“No! You're too young! You can't train yet!” Pale-Kit yelled.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“And you're not?” Blue replied.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Shut up!” Pale-Kit ran off towards the forest. Sure, he'd get in trouble, but he didn't care at this point.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Wait!” Blue cried.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What?” Pale-Kit stopped and turned to face the Kittypet kit one last time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“What's your name?” Blue inquired.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Pale-Kit.” Pale-Kit mewed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Pale-Kit, promise me you'll come back when I'm old enough. Please!” Blue pleaded, the angle the sun hit her at made her green eyes look orange.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Sure, whatever, uhm...” He started.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“Blue. My name is Blue.” Blue said.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀“If I remember, I'll come back for you, Blue.” He mewed and then ran back into the forest. After he was far away from the twoleg den and felt achy, he heard what sounded like panicked cats from his clan calling out for him, but he was too tired to call back, and fell passed out. The last thing he heard was the muffled sounding voice of Torn-Star's voice as he found him on the ground. Today was the roughest day of Pale-Kit's life. And perhaps it would only get harder.
