"𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐒?" Elena frowns, looking between the two mikealson siblings. Rebekah looks at Florence and she glances down. 

"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his curse. Mine was triggered long before it, our mother could tell what happened when he kicked and screamed in his sleep that one night a month whilst I changed, breaking every bone in my body. He felt it but he hadn't triggered his curse so he couldn't change. With that, we became our fathers greatest shame." Florence starts. 

"Yeah, Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. You twins weren't his children." Elena nods. 

"She tried to make us right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik and the Tribrid curse on me. The sun and the moon curse. Whatever you want to call it, she bonded his with petrova doppelgänger blood and mine with a bennet witch. Luckily bennet witches aren't all that hard to find." Florence nods, sipping from her cup. 

"But Michaels greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, it was amplified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village. Then he came home and killed her." Rebekah says staring into the fire. 

"Micheal killed your mother?" Elena questions. 

"He said she broke his heart, so he broke hers. He tore it from her chest as me and Nik watched." Florence finishes looking at Elena with an exhaustion in her face. 

After that he took off in a rage and the rest of our family scattered. Nik and Florence stayed so they could help me bury her. They knew I had to say goodbye to my mother. 

"I know you think she hated you Niklaus, but she did not. She was just afraid. I'm sorry she turned her back on you, I will never do that. Florencia, sorry Florence, I won't turn my back on you and send you away either." Rebekah says, as tears drop down her face quietly. 

"Nor will i." Elijah says, walking forward. Florence takes in a breath and slips her hand into Niklaus' the two twins looking at their siblings. 

"We stick together as one. Always and Forever." Rebekah nods holding her hand out to Florence and then turning to Elijah and doing the same. As Elijah and Niklaus connect hands the promise is made, always and forever the mikealson family will stay together. 

Florence looks at Elena, "Always and forever? Even tho he locked you in a coffin for 90 years?" The gilbert asks turning to Rebekah. 

"We're vampires, are emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, Florence loyal and Nik, Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint them. Over a thousand years as a family we have learned that mistake at least once, I've made it several times." Rebekah admits. 

"But you still love him?" Elena frowns. 

"He's my brother. And I'm immortal. Should I spend an eternity alone instead?" Rebekah looks down, "You've heard the story, now you need to go." Rebekah stands up and grabs Elena, pulling her up and towards the door but she doesn't move from her spot. "I said leave Elena. I don't know what your up to, but I'm going to protect my older sister from your games."
