Reindeer Ride

We ran towards Lucy and we saw the reindeer. Two reindeer saw us and backed away. Kate recorded it before she put the camera down and we both started trying to walk toward them. Lucy wasn't barking anymore. I held her leash and she tried to walk toward the reindeer. I held her back with us.

"Shh, it's okay. It's okay." Kate put her hands up to calm them down.

"Hey, we're friends with Santa." I told them as we're stepping closer. Lucy was a little bit in front of us, trying to either sniff the reindeer and say hi, or bark in their face.

"We won't hurt you. We're with Santa." Kate said. We walked slowly again and the reindeer snorted and backed away.

"Katie, give them a candy cane." I told her. She grabbed one out of her pocket in a plastic bag that she took from Santa in the pub earlier. She held her hand out a little too fast and the reindeer in front of her jumped back. I picked up Lucy, unzipped my coat, put her in, and zipped my coat back up so she won't fall out if we were going to do what I hope we were going to do.

"It's just a candy cane." She tried to tell him. I looked behind the reindeer and saw a reindeer backed up on the steps in front of a building. I laughed a little and returned to watching them. "Don't you want some?" Kate asked to the reindeer in front of her. The reindeer stared at Kate. "It's okay. We're one of the good guys." She reassured him. She held the candy cane in front of the reindeer. He sniffed the candy cane, backed its head away, sniffed again, and ate it. We smiled a little and I saw the reindeer putting its head in front of Kate. Another reindeer walked up next to the one in front of Kate and walked up in front of me.

"Give me one." I asked her. She gave me one and I fed it to the one in front of me. I looked over and saw Kate put her hand up. The reindeers head moved back a little bit. But it put its head back into place and in front of Kate's hand. The reindeer put its head in Kate's hand. "There you ago. It's okay." She told it. I did the same but slower. I held my hand up and the reindeer sniffed my hand. It snorted and then put its head in my hand too. Kate and I continued to pet the reindeer's noses and we heard them bellow softly.

"I'm Kate, and you're..." She looked at the golden collar on its neck. "Comet. Comet? The Comet? Wow, you're really famous where I'm from! Santa's really worried about you. Is it okay if I take you to him?" Comet bellowed again and knelt. So did the one I have.

"Let's see, who are you?" I asked while putting all the fur aside. "Blitzen." I read. I sat on top of him and both Comet and Blitzen stood. I grabbed Blitzen's antlers and Kate grabbed Comet's antlers.

"You ready, bonita?" I asked her.

"Uh, maybe?" She smiled while Comet was standing up. Comet stood fully up and running, Blitzen and the others running after him. Glad those horse riding lessons paid off.

We rode the reindeer down the streets, trying to catch up to the police chase. But we heard it everywhere. I could see it was Kate's first time riding an animal because she was slipping to the right. "Lena! Help!" She yelled. I kicked Blitzen's side a little to make him run faster. He did and I caught up next to Kate. I couldn't pick her up and place her back down on the seat. I held one hand on Blitzen's antler and the other hand on Kate's collar. It was the best I could do without me falling off also and pushing her off. "Slow down, Comet!" Kate yelled at him, but Comet ignored her and continued running.

"Comet, stop!" I tried to also yell at him. He continued running, either not caring or knowing that Kate's slipping. We couldn't do anything, so we just stuck with it until we could find Santa. I looked at the sides of their collars to see if they have stirrups, but they didn't. I held Blitzen's antler a little tighter to keep balance. Kate continued to try and yell at Comet to stop running so fast. We continued to ride down roads until I saw bright flashing blue lights down one street to the left. "Hang on, Kate!" I yelled. I leaned Blitzen's head to the left, where we then saw the cops with Santa, and Teddy behind them.
