'Dear Diary,
I scare myself sometimes. Today I lost control and about blew cover. I must be more careful from now on...'
I paused and put my pencil down, remembering what happened.

I took another step forward, my eyes never leaving the blood. The poor, weak human was laughing and examining his wound. I simply smiled and took another step forward, crouching down to get ready to spring, all common sense was replaced by the burning hunger inside me.
My muscles tightens, about ready to uncoil and send me flying to the boy. Suddenly, a firm hand grips my neck and around my waist, pulling me behind my truck. I snarled but it was cut off my the hand tightening around my throat. I gagged and struggled against the hands, the burning hunger still inside me.
''Calm down.'' A male's voice spoke in my ear softly. I recognized the voice immediately and relaxed.
I choked out with what little air supply I had. ''Damon.'' He chuckled and released me. Once his hands were gone I moved away from him and crouched low next to him, speaking in a low voice. ''What the hell are you doing here?'' I asked him rudely, still on my hunger rush.
He smirked. ''So, no thank you for saving you from explaining why you ripped that kids throat out in front of the entire school? Wow, how disrespectful.''
I scowled at him annoyed. ''Well I'm sorry. I haven't had blood in 24 hours and I am a bit on edge. The smell caught me by surprise and I lost control. Sorry for the minor slip up.'' I stood up and moved to open my car door.
No such luck. Damon flashed up and stood in the way, a giant grin on his face. ''Yes a minor slip up that would be bad for all of us.'' He opened the door for me and I climbed in. In a flash he was in the passenger seat.
I sighed and turned on the ignition. ''Where to?''
''The boarding house, since you rudly forgot about showing up last night.'' He made himself comfortable in my truck and I rolled my eyes and drove.

I looked down at my diary and sighed, closing it. I got off my bed and went to the fridge to grab one of the bags of blood that I had recently gotten. As I was drinking, I heard my phone vibrate. Quickly I dashed and looked at the number.
Elena.
I pressed the answer button. ''Hello?''
''Hey Emma, I was just wondering if you were going to the game tonight? I didn't get a chance to talk to you much today.''
I sighed. ''Yeah I wasn't feeling great today. But I'm not sure if I'm going to the game or not.''
Her voice was a little sadder. ''Well if you decide to go then let me know. Everyone will be cheering tonight and I am officially cheerleader no more!'' She laughed a little.
''Really?'' I knew she was thinking about quiting but I didn't think she actually would.
"Yup" she responded "Caroline is gonna be pissed and Stefan will be on the field so that's why I was wondering if you were going to go. We can hang if you do." Her voice had a bit of a pleading edge to it and I laughed.
"Sure. I'll come to the game." I smiled and after saying our goodbyes I hung up. Going back to my diary I continued to write.
'Tonight I'm going to the game in hopes of keeping control. Wish me luck for today I realized just how hard it may be to assume the identity of human.'
