"Mom! Wake up!" the tiny kitten choked out while sobbing, "Wake up! Come on, we can run away! Please... mom?"
A raspy smooth voiced molly snarled, "Scram kid! Unless you wanna end up like your mother."
The tan kitten looked up at the older felines, tears glazing her eyes. She puffed out her fluffy chest, trying to seem strong but failing miserably, "Why did you do this! You're monsters!"
A tom stepped up and silkily warned, "Take this as a warning kid. Hunt in Glade Colony territory, and we won't be afraid to harm."
"You're monsters!"
The kittens mother laid there on her side with a huge gash in her stomach, "Go my little one," she rasped.
"I don't wanna leave you! Please stay with me!"
"I will always be with you my little Ferret. I will always be running by your side." She gave a warm smile before turning more grim, "Leave. Now." Her eyes closed, and her breathing slowly stopped. And the kitten knew.
Ferret whispered under her breath, "Monsters." Before turning away. She looked back at her mothers body, "Bye mom..." she choked. Her walk turned into a sprint as she bounded out of the territory. She could hear the cruel felines who killed her mother smirk, and she forcefully gritted her teeth to stop herself from crying.

Even if Quietfang had visited The Spirit's hunting grounds countless times, it never ceased to marvel him. It had an eerie stillness which brought peace to his bustling mind. A dull ginger tabby with amber eyes appeared in front of him, a mischievous smile spread across their face. They came forward and touched noses with Quietfang and their sweet scent instantly flooded his nose. "Flarecloud," he breathed, "It's been so long."
Their eyes sparkled, "I've missed you too." Flarecloud's expression turned more grim. "A danger is coming to the clans from the deepest burrows."
"What happened," pressed Quietfang.
"The path is foggy. But we believe a specific cat has an important role in this danger. She may save us, or destroy. I need you to keep a special eye on her companion."
"Who is, 'she'?"
Flarecloud whipped their tail and whisked them away to the camp nursery, "I can not tell, but here is her friend. Her." They nosed one of the kits,"Daffodil."
The healer slowly nodded his head, his responsibility clear now. The dream started blurring and Quietfang purred with love, "It was nice seeing you again Fireball." He pressed his head into their fur and closed his eyes as he began to wake up.
It is my first book so please don't judge it too harshly though criticism is welcome.
