• CHAPTER NINE •
You slept in an uncomfortable chair beside Izuku. Even though he insisted you go home and get a good night sleep, you wanted to stay and look after him. Truthfully, he didn't need much looking after by you at the moment, but having you there as emotional support was nice. You cared for him so of course you wanted to stay.
He laid in his hospital bed, still awake even at the late hour. Stars scattered across the dark night sky and sparkled like glitter. The crickets screamed in the background of everything, and the clock ticked at each second, minute, and hour.
Everyone in the room was sleeping except for Izuku. His mind was busy, and he couldn't sleep, especially when you where right there. Now and then he'd glance at you and his heart rate go up on the heart monitor. He would blush when he noticed it and look away from you. But his eyes always came back to you. It turned into and ongoing cycle, which kept him awake for quite some time.
You were asleep, so there was no chance of you catching his staring emerald eyes. You were in a state of tranquillity, it made it hard not to stare. The moonlight was shining through the window and illuminated your features. You looked like a pretty celebrity who was only seen on magazines.
Izuku sighed and shuffled in his bed. God, what was he supposed to do with himself? He'd gotten hurt and now he was laying in a hospital bed. He even burdened you with the trouble of coming to see him. He should've known you wouldn't want to go back home. You'd probably stay there for a month if you had to.
He sighs and puts his book down next to a vase on the bedside table. Not wanting to forget the beautiful sight displayed in front of him he attempted to draw you in his sketch book. It was hard for him to focus though, considering he could see the image right in front of him in real time.
Much like you, Izuku quite enjoyed drawing. In his free time or in times of boredom he would simply take out his sketch book and doodle. That or he'd scribble random thoughts in his notebook.
He looked at you yet another time, but this time you were frowning. He raised a brow, wondering why you'd make such an expression in your sleep. You then made a disturbed sound and moved in your chair.
'She must be having a bad dream' Izuku thought to himself with a worried expression. Should he wake you from your fearful dream, or should he leave you as you are?
Your disturbed sounds became more frequent and it made Izuku panic. He wasn't sure what to do.
He stood up from his bed with urgency and approached your figure. He bent down to see your face and hesitantly placed his arms on your shoulder and gently shook your body.
"(Y/n)," he whispered, "(Y/n)," he repeated.
You woke with a small gasp feeling out of place and a bit frantic, but soon you relaxed and your eyes settled on the boy in front of you.
"Hey," he said gently and quietly, a hand extending to cup your cheek, "are you okay?" He asked, so much care in his voice. He seemed genuinely worried.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay," you blushed and looked away.
"Were you having a bad dream?"
"Yeah," you sighed and covered your face, "but it's nothing I can't handle. It's just a dream after all," you told him.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He said, his free hand resting on top of your arm.
You shook your head in response.
"Okay, that's fine. I would never force you to tell me something you don't want to," he told you, hoping that maybe it'd make you trust him for future references.
"(Y/n)," he said, moving his hand to place loose stands of hair behind your ear.
"Yes?" Your eyes locked with his.
"Come lay with me. This chair is not fit for sleeping," he stayed calm, but it took him a lot of courage to recommend.
"Okay," you said with barely any hesitation.
You followed Izuku to his hospital bed and frowned. "This is too small to fit both of us," you told him.
"I don't mind being close to you," he says with a small smirk. You smiled at his comment and let out a small giggle.
He laid down and you follow, your bodies being pushed against each other. "This is definitely and upgrade from the chair," your lips displayed a delighted smile as you snuggled your head into Izuku's chest.
He just chuckled a bit and said, "go to sleep."
"Don't let the big bugs bite," you joked.
"I won't," he laughed.
Suddenly it was so easy to fall asleep now that you were in his arms. Your sleep was free of any bad dreams and the both of you slept in harmony.
