Growing.

My kid is growing up so fast that it make me wonder how the saying abou time is true. Of course the first few years were hard with dealing with their diapers, bottles, and almost going insane with their loud wailing. Yet it's all worth it because that's my kid and I'm willing to do anything for them. Right now, (Y/n)'s five years old, and they're in kindergarten. Sometimes I feel like it was just yesterday that they were just born and we were beginning our parenthood. We're now professional parents and (Y/n) is one of the best things that could've ever happen to us.

My mind finally clear up once I hear a familiar bell ring and children are screaming in delight. I tilt my head up to see that school is out and it's my turn to pick up Tiny. Every other day one of us has to go pick up (Y/n) from school after work, and if we aren't able to do so, then I call my business partner Finnick to pick them up. I lean up against the side of my car as I wait for (Y/n) on the other side of the street. I kept my emerald eyes on the school doors and tried to find them.

Where are they?

"Boo!"

I flinch a bit and turn around. There they stood at the passenger side of the car and little giggles left their lips. Chuckling, I made my way around the car and grab them by their hips then lift them up in the air.

"Why you little sneaky troublemaker!" I said proudly. "You're as slick as me because you were able to catch your daddy off guard."

They giggled. "I scawy to Daddy!"

"Yes, but next time, let's do this somewhere safe. Like a park or something, not here. Okay, Tiny?" They nodded and I place them down on their feet again. As I look them, I can see that their ears are still bunny like and that their tail is fox like. Yet their eyes are violet with small little green sparkles and their muzzle has a nose that's a bit small. Each year that pass by, they continue to shape into their own kind of animal and I can't wait to see them all grown up.

"Daddy?" I hummed in response. "What's wrong?" They tilt their head as they grip on the handles of their backpack. They're wearing a (f/c) t-shirt with black tights and their favorite matching rain boots. No matter the day, they always want to wear their lucky rain boots, because they were sign by Gazelle herself. When Judy told her about (Y/n), she sign off her boots, and (Y/n) can never ever let them go.

"Oh nothing." I open the passenger door for them. "Just trying to plan a scheme on how to change your mind on those boots of yours."

They huffed and hopped inside of the car. "Nu! Sowwie Daddy, but my lucky boots will stay on me! Forever!"

I close their door and the window is roll down. "Oh really?" I place my elbow on the windowsill and lean against the palm of my hand. "Nothing will ever convince you?" They shook their head and I smirked.

We'll see about that, Tiny.

Ever since that day, I've been giving it my all on trying to find a way to change their mind. Tiny is as stubborn as their mom and they've been giving me a hard time. I tried to persuade them with food and that didn't work. I bought them the toys they've been asking for and they told me to get a refund for them. I even took them out to their favorite places to go to but even before we left the apartment, they put on their boots, and I knew that they weren't taking them off. All of this was just fun and games for just the two of us. Judy never understood why I kept doing this but I told her that she'll never understand the bond that we have.

But then, the day of them taking off of those boots was a day I wish they kept them on. And the reason why they took them off was not because of me. A month passed when we first began this little fun game of ours and the last day of it as well. It was the last day of the month and I was waiting for them outside once again. The bell goes off like usual and all the kids come out of the doors quickly. Some goes to their parents, some goes to the buses, and some just walks home.
