Worrying.

I'm sitting in one of the police cruises and I watch Nick taking our ten-year-old on one of his side jobs. Nick promised me that he won't take them out too much where it becomes a problem, but my issue is that they'll turn this into a habit. I don't want them to think that all they have to do to survive in this world is just doing that. Yes, I enjoy seeing them bonding together, but I can't help but worry about their future choices. So, I turn the key on the car, and drove home once they finished.

I arrived home before they did and I sat down on the couch with my arms crossed. Nick clearly has forgotten that now it's my turn to train our child and I have some plans for them. I hear the jingle of the familiar keys entering the door lock and it turns until it clicks open. The two of them come inside the apartment, laughing hysterically, and complimenting one another.

"That was awesome, dad!" (Y/n) exclaimed. "Nice move on playing that weasel on accepting our offer with some blackmail."

"Well, it's all because of you, Tiny." Nick chuckled. "If you didn't record his deep dark secret a day before we showed up, then that deal would've been dropped quicker than our Pawsicles melting in Sahara Sqaure." Their faces are finally shown as they make it to the end of the entry hallway and once they saw me, their smiley faces are immediately dropped. I glare at Nick as he gave me a nervous chuckle and I rose an eyebrow at him.

"Nicholas Wilde." I said sternly and he took a big gulp.

"Y-Yes?" he stuttered.

I stood up from the couch and made my way to the both of them. (Y/n)'s eyes widen as I look at them. Right now, they're at my height, but that doesn't matter to me. No matter how small I am, I can still fight a big rhino, and can give an intimidating look that can make everyone freeze.

"If I remember correctly, you said that we each have five years to teach (Y/n) different lessons." I place my hands on my hips as I lean my weight on my right leg. "And last time I checked, (Y/n) is now ten-years-old."

"But-" I held up my paw at him and he went stiff.

"Nick. I want (Y/n) to learn more than what you've given because there's more to life than this! And you know that. So please, let me have a chance to unlock a new chapter for our child." Nick's emerald orbs stare into my amethyst ones and a smile slowly grow on his face.

He looks down at (Y/n). "Looks like it's Mama's turn, Tiny." (Y/n) stare at him for a moment and turn to look at me.

I gave them a smile. "I'm going to show you my side of the world."

The first year was all about discovering their dreams.

I took my baby to a popular spot where every kind of animal likes to show off all their special talents. Their school doesn't inspire them enough to seek out what they love the most since they only pay attention to what their father loves to do. They're sadly turning into a follower and not a leader, so my only hope is this special place.

"Where are we, mommy?" (Y/n) asked me as I park the car on the side of the street. I turn my head over to where I can hear children laughing, adults cheering, and elders enjoying the moment. A smile reach upon my face and I turn to my little one.

"This is the plaza, (Y/n)." They tilt their head at me in confusion as I unbuckle my seatbelt. "Let's go!" I then got out of the car. They quickly follow right behind me and made sure to walk by my side as we make our way to the busy area. Street performers are at every corner and so are food stands. But the most popular spot to be at is at the water fountain where it's located right in the middle of the plaza.
