The twins landed with a thud. "Ugh. That hurt." The older girl complained. The two sat up and looked around. "Where the hell are we?" The black haired girl muttered. "Hope what did you do?" The girl accused. "I don't know. I just said a spell that I read from Esther's grimoire." The auburn haired girl answered.
"Well, we better find a way back." The older girl walked away, her sister immediately following her. The girls reached the Lockwood mansion. Meira enhanced her sight and saw a masquerade ball being held. "I didn't know there was a masquerade ball today." She turned to her sister. "Because there isn't supposed to be one."
"Is that- Merde that's young Matt Donovan." The older girl cursed. The girls spotted Elena Gilbert. "You messed up." Meira said bluntly. "We just went back in time." The twins couldn't believe it. "Oh mon dieu. This is when she gets kidnapped and meets uncle Elijah." The older girl said in realization. Then Hope did something stupid.

My eyes widened in disbelief as Hope threw the person who snuck up on Elena. "S'il te plait tue moi." I cursed as I walked to Hope, I grabbed her arm. "What do you think you're doing?" I hissed. "Saving her." She replied. "You know dad needs her right? We can't mess up the timeline." I glared at her.
"We won't. We can just keep innocent people from dying." She said. "Hope you can't save everyone." I rolled my eyes. "We should at least try." She reasoned. "What do you mean 'we' I'm not helping." I let her arm go. "But-" I felt my neck get snapped.

I groaned. Putain de merde. I looked around me. I was in a unfamiliar house. I looked to see Hope and Elena passed out. I sigh. "Consano." I chant. The two of them gasped awake. Hope scooted close to me. "Who are you?" Elena asked us. "I'm Meira..." I contemplate which last name to use.
"Labonair." I decided to use mom's real last name. I saw a look of surprise on Hope's face before she quickly masked it. "This is my twin Hope." I gesture to Hope. A man came in and untied Elena. "What do you want?" He shushed her. "Please I'm hurt." I don't think he really cares. "I know. Just a taste." Elena screamed while Hope froze him.
"Trevor! Control yourself." A woman came in. Hope dropped her spell and sat next to Elena while I just sat the floor. "Buzzkill." Trevor left. "What do you want with me?" The woman walked towards Elena. "My god, you look just like her." Elena shook her head. "But I'm not." "I don't think she wants us to talk." I interject.
She doesn't listen. "Please, whatever you-" "Be quiet." The woman snapped. "But I'm not Katherine." Obviously. "My name is Elena Gilbert. You don't have to do this." She stood up. "I know who you are. I said be quiet." The woman said. "What do you want?" She remained stubborn. The woman slapped her so hard that she fell and passed out. "I want you to be quiet."
Hope went to Elena while I snorted at what happened. The woman's head snapped to me. "We'll be quiet. Don't worry." I raised my hands in mock surrender. The woman left. "We should leave Hope." I leaned my back on the couch. "We're not leaving her Meira." She argues. I would have left you for dead if we weren't in a different timeline.
"What spell did you use?" I ask. "I already told-" "I meant the incantation." I interrupt. "Nos recipiat in tempore ad pacem inveniendam." I groan. "That was absolutely stupid of you to use a spell you didn't understand." I sigh. "It means: take us back in time to find peace." I explain. "Does that mean we can change everything?"
"Yes. But there's no guarantee that the impact on the future will be something we'll like." I answer. "Which is why we have to leave and find a way back." She shakes her head. "We can prevent everything that happened in New Orleans. We're not leaving." I roll my eyes. "The only way to prevent it is if we cease to exist."
