"THE TURTLE AND THE HERON"

"The turtle and the heron

Is a long long tale, from the unknown agone.

And of someone you loved it'll remind,

And of someone you loved just as nice."

>> On the other side of the world,

Its winter and its dusk there.

And there my home is hidden,

Somewhere far from here.>>

<<I've lived my life, all the same

All year round, as if fixed in a frame.

Until below the willow's laces when I lay,

The vow was forged, on the very first winter's day.<<

"The turtle, laid back and wise,

And if I tell you the truth

The heron was willful just as twice,

Sheer childishness lurked underneath eyes."

>>For as long as I remember

I'd disliked winter, adored the summer.

But that is not the case now,

And I want to stand strong on my vow.>>

<<I'd always be under the willow,

Under autumn's falling leaves.

Waiting, still gazing at the mild flaming ring,

Waiting, for the winter, not the spring.<<

<<Why doesn't the the winter last longer?

I wished to spend more time with you<<

>>Why doesn't the winter last longer?

Why don't dreams always come true?>>

"All that cradles into existence,

Must disperse into nothingness.

The harmony of nature lie in

Life and death-two sides of same coin."

>>I look back at us,

All that silence of yours was my noise.

Even when you were silent,

I still heard your voice.>>

<<Perhaps it was me who truly didn't grow up,

I'd kept waiting and waiting and waiting in vain.

Not realizing, people come and people go,

Only the memories remain.<<

"The past is beautiful, beautiful and agrace,

I always wish for its second embrace.

The past is dauting, vile! Horrendous!

Its something from which I wish to run away."

>>The sky was stretched over the plain,

I remember under the willow's warm emerald rain.

Withered, I knew, I couldn't fly fast,

Farewell, for this song would be the last.>>

<<The sky was stretched over the plain,

And now you're gone somewhere far away.

Yet life will go on the same, from day to day,

But now you're gone, and won't come again.<<

"Here I am in a mourn- my heart and mind,

This tale- tell it to someone, maybe it'll remind,

You, of someone you loved or them,

And someone who loved back just as nice."

P.S

This sounded like a lovers' ballad right?

Well, I can't help it.

So according to some middle east Asian country -or countries, I don't really know which one to be exact- heron and turtle symbolize harmony. The heron is a willful and childish bird while the turtle is wise and mature. Their statues are placed together -often in Zen gardens- and are considered auspicious. I learnt this from a game -gardenscapes- that I played
