"Twenty six out of forty," I said.

15 3 6

I've seen that smile.
I give them too and one full of life.
I understand the smile is a lie.
"Oh how much did you get?"
"Twenty six out of forty," I said.

I've seen those pity filled eyes.
I give them eyes and those full of life.
And I understand those eyes are a lie.
"Oh that's alright, somethings happen bad."
"Of course it was a little hard," I said.

I've seen that twitching mouth.
I send them a off a laugh and that full of life.
But they don't understand that laugh is a lie.
"Oh you will do better next time my dear."
"Surely I will," I reply without a waver.

I've seen that keep up of a life.
I give them replies and those full of life.
They wouldn't understand these are lies.
"Nothing can be done now alas, try better again."
"Its started to pour," I turned to the rain.

And I couldn't hold long so I cried.
The sleepy façade was and so full of life.
Before I slept, I sobbed and I cried.
"Oh how much did you get?"
"Twenty six out of forty," I said.

How do I put myself to sleep now?
I laughed at myself, truly, I did and so filled with life.
Truly this time in though sheer mockery.
"Your dreams cannot come true now."
"There is though a way if I will," I voice out.

All along now I've been truly lying and they said,
"A single piece of paper cant decide your fate."
Then why do you look at me with that sort of a face?
"Oh dear how much did you just say you'd get?"
"Twenty six out of forty," I said.
