The next day at school I was sitting at the lunch table by myself reading my book when a fight started. Two big guys were shoving each other yelling who knows what. Teachers split them apart and they went on their separate ways “Fucking prick.” One of the guys said. I think his name was Jimmy. One of the football players or something like that, I think, and stormed off.
The other guy looked like a new guy. I’ve never seen him around in my life. He seemed cute though I guess. But there were a lot of cute guys at this school. Just all of them were jerks. But this one looked different. He had on a black hoodie with ripped jeans. He had a short hair but the front was all spiked up. He had bright blue eyes, the kind that you just stare at.
Until I realized I was staring at his when I saw him smile at me. Embarrassed I looked away, grabbed my tray, and walked away.
After school I walked to my car and I saw a midnight purple Pontiac Judge GTO. No one ever parks by me. Ever, so this was new to me. When I unlocked my car I heard footsteps behind me. “I like the Eclipse.”
It was the new guy; he had a leather jacket on with some sunrays on. I just forced a smile and turned back around. “You don’t talk very much do you?” he asked as he unlocked his car. I shook my head and opened my car door. “You know? I never thought the saying ‘actions spoke louder than words’, you know, until I met you.” I turned around to give him a curious look.
“Ha, yeah, that’s right. I noticed you sitting by yourself in the cafeteria.” He grinned and got into his car. Dumfounded by what he just told me, I got into my car and started my car. I couldn’t help but watch him as he pulled out of the parking lot.
I sunk into my seat, blushing insanely. I’ve never had anyone say that to me. I couldn’t help but to smile all the way back home.
When I had pulled into my drive way, I saw that there were new people moving into the house next door. Stupid me though, I wasn’t paying attention at all to where I was driving and drove into the trash cans knocking them over.
Then, out of nowhere, they new guy from my school came running up to my car, “Hey! You okay?” he asked and as I got out of the car he stopped in his tracks and a big smile came upon his face.
“So, you’re my neighbor eh?” he asked walking over to the trash cans. I just nodded and grabbed my bag from the passenger seat. I watched as he picked up the trash cans and put them back where they were. He turned and looked at me with an amused look on his face.
“So, you really don’t talk do ya.” He asked smiled. I felt my cheeks heat up and I looked away shyly. He walked over and put out his hand. “My names Joey, what’s yours?”
I looked him in the eye, trying hard not to give away how embarrassed I was and shook his hand. “Madison Rue.” Was all I could get out before I did an embarrassing high pitched sneeze. I looked at him, eyes wide, and i felt as my face turning into a bright red.
“Bless you.” He said and walked away, back to his house.
I immediately walked straight into my house and shut the door. My heart was pounding in my chest, he was so attractive. And he spoke to me. No one has ever spoken to me. Mostly because I never existed to them.
But him, he noticed me.
