When I had gotten home that night, I started on my homework. I decided to skip eating dinner, trying to avoid my sister. She never lets me have anything. But that's just my life.

It was around 9 am and I started to draw. I was free drawing a flying bird when I heard something hit my door.

I didn't know what it was but it made me jump out of my skin.

I walked over to the window and opened up to see Joey with his window up, smiling at me.

He gestured for me to open my window because he wanted to talk to me about something.

So I did.

"So shy girl, you ever going to let me in your world?" He grinned.

God he had such an amazing smile. His face was absolutely perfect to me. I didn't know what to say, as usual, so I just shrugged.

He shook his head still grinning at me.

"You know, you gotta start saying more than one words to me." He teased and I blushed.

"I'm sorry."

"See, there we go, two words. We're getting up there eh?"

I smiled a big smile and his grin seemed to get bigger when he saw it.

"A girl like you should smile more often."

I looked at him and gave him a nervous smile and shook my head, looking away.

"I like that one the most. Your shy smile, it says a lot about you." He said, his soft blue eyes looking deep in mine.

"I hide myself behind my smile." I told him.

"Well, you just met someone who see's through that beautiful smile of yours." And with that, he shut his window and closed the blinds. I shut mine and sunk down to the grown, smiling nonstop.

Where did this guy come from? No one has ever been able to make me feel this way. There was just something about him. I wonder what this means. Is it a sign?

I looked in the mirror. I was wearing my sweatpants and tank top with my hair in a bun. My typical outfit.

But I saw in me looking in the mirror this time. I saw a happy girl. Who would have known, a guy could change how I saw myself. He called my smile beautiful...no one has ever said that about my smile.

But, I still liked it.
